Weapon Customization and Salvaging Dyes

i apologize if these suggestions have been mentioned before. search function ftl.

why not make customized weapons account wide instead of toon specific? i have quite a few customized weapons that i wouldnt mind using on other toons and their heroes.

for dyes, id like to be able to salvage dyes off of armors and weapons. yes, it seems silly and unrealistic but why not? to take that concept a little further, if we were able to salvage dyes off of weapons, random weapon drops that are dyeable should drop pre-dyed so we have the option of salvaging the dye.

the dye salvaging wouldnt replace normal dye drops, they would simply be adding to them.

Uuuuuhhhh salvaging a dye is kinda dumb, I mean did you ever dye a shirt in real life and you got the dye liquid back? :P

I am against the idea of account wide customisation and indeed anything else which detracts from my seeing gw as a role playing game.

A weapon is cusomised for a character that I am pretending to actually be.
So I am a 6 foot 6 inch nordic warrior who finds an axe
I ask a wizard to add a cold damage rune since I usually fight with a necro companion and want the axe to do cold damage so he can help me.

I have the haft lengthened to suit my stature and have it dyed red because of my fear of yellow "the original colour"
I also crudely carve my initials on them as I cannot spell my name too well.

Now that is customisation in a role playing term.

So please why should my 3 foot tall asura be able to use the axe just as well because he has axe skill ?
He will only cut the length down by half and later tell me it broke in combat and I must look after my weapons more carefully.

While My elf Maiden Ranger who borrowed it to cut firewood will draw little flowers all over it.

I find it bad enough that weapons customised to my character also work for that characters heroes.

so no thank you to this idea

Whoa... What game are you playing? Because it's definately not Guild Wars... Either that or ease up off the crack!

"Customization" is really meant to add some extra damage while removing the weapon from the economy. Personally, I don't have a problem with account-wide customization.

Elves? Wizards? Norse?

you are joking are you not.

So my role playing terms have you confused.

It so happens I am male and some of my characters are female "not role playing"

Define someone who casts spells that work in terms other than wizard or the like" not gw not role playing"

I consider some of my characters nordic in style and one of my characters as an elf" "not role playing "

So what you ARE saying is that your name really is Aeris Carter you belong to a society known as the Order of the Mursaat and in real life you are a Monk/Mesmer "nice choice btw"

And you dont consider it role playing at all.

IE you are playing your self at all times in the game.

and I am the one on drugs

hmm ok

I came up with that dye salvage idea ~2 weeks ago, so /signed for that one.
But I /unsign the account wide customization, if something is customized for you, its customized for YOU, not for any other characters.
