Advice for possible devish glacial stone farm?
Fox Reeveheart
I have a dervish and I just don't feel like... ya know... leveling up a whole new character or getting them through gwen and whatnot so I been looking up how a dervish could farm spectral vaettirs or however you spell it.
The monsters are mesmers using degen and anti-attack skills like clumsiness, images or remorse.
So I looked around and remembered a skill that dawned on me. AVATAR OF DWAYNA!
The spectrals do not have any interrupts I know of so you can lob off all the spells you want. They hit you up with a lot of hexes and using any skill when AoD is on heals you of 50+ hp depending on mysticism and removes one rank.
Ontop of that I figure either have faithful intervention laced with mystic regeneration or dip into some monk heal skills.
Needed are cheap attack skills like victorious sweep. Cheap and spammable skills work to keep the hexes off.. I like osiron of healing. I was also thinking of taking smite hex but I don't know if it would remove the hex or not. Would the AoD take effect first and remove the hex before smite can or what?
Eternal aura is a must. Best bet is to use it as early as you can after you got AoD off.
Any advice on what I could do? o.o I am gonna go test this very soon.
Edit: Ok so I seem to have hit a snag >.O.
Getting by the minos is a little tricky but can be done. Just follow right behind one group to begin with and then go off in whichever direction you have to go.
But now i'm screwed by the mountain pinesouls q.q oh what do i do!? They keep crippling me Q_Q Always three of them there is!
Can you touch yourself? (as in the touched ally for skills like mending touch)
I figure dismiss condition can help, probably mend ailment too.
Thing is that I should probably have dwayna up while i cast the skills. A big problem is that while i'm casting they are still pelting me with big ol rocks! Wonder if I should have mystic regen up too. Though the damage for them is like 50+ being lvl 28 and all.
Suggestions?

Errr thats nice and all but you run into lvl 28 mountain pinesouls with both pin down and barbed trap Q.Q so some help here would be nice
I don't have a run skill but instead I have some protection skills like shield guardian while I am in the midst of them. I need a quick and fast recharging condition removal skill.
Maybe dismiss condition? I am so tired of giving money ~.~ i spent like 5k on skills just out of this... sigh.

Mending Touch can be used on you. Remedy signet would work well too.

If you don't want to do a lot of work, I have actually used my primaries and gone second Rt, spam the 5-6 offensive spirits with painful bond works pretty well to smoke the guys (they pull/fight one at a time). You can even use it to get by the pinesouls there

P.S. all this stuff yall is tripping about for getting there (the pinsouls and such) are not a worry whatsoever as you can follow a certain path that brings you through a SINGLE mob of whirling wisps which do nothing for dmg if you have some enchants on and ignore them.
map to avoid such mobs as stated included here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10190571

holy crap thats a long way to run to get to them Q.Q on the map you have... but you are still running through mobs... whats the mob thats next to that semi-cave of wolves you have to run through? Cause I did some quests in moraine last night and completely edged it out besides like very little bit left.
And do flagging heroes far away from you make it so that the game considers you solo'ing? I had the idea that no matter how far away they were, even if their names were dulled out as when they so far away as to not be on the compass that you were still considered in a group.
This is indeed a disturbing universe.
Anyone else?

It is a major negative to run with your heroes as you can flag them out so they don't steal drops BUT with this build you utilize the portal to the right to refarm the same group without the run, this can be bad because you're heroes respawn right where you are as you return to the portal, and they will most likely not survive running away from your farm spot, and they'll steal drops while dead.....anyone whose better at explaining this please do, cause i think i lost everyone at sentence two, but hey if you get what i'm saying...cheers

Ok well peeps I made a build that works remarkably enough... but it seems after looking at other builds I was beat to the punch of the use of a mesmer secondary. But I didn't copy them. I was thinking yesterday.. "How do you beat a mesmer?" with another mesmer! he doesnt uses interrupts so I decided that since he likes to shoot off 4-5 spells before attacking that I hit them with backfire.
My current build
Faithful Intervention
Mystic Regeneration
Avatar of Dwayna (elite)
Eternal Aura
Empathy
Backfire
Signet of Distraction
The fourth one I need to run through prophecies, I want to pick up wastrel's worry. It's a nice cheap spell.. and cheap is sorely needed.
Run...
Turn on FI, go north, avoid mobs, run through passage with wisps, make beeline for spectral area while avoiding mobs still.
Ok now to the spectrals... I recommend going to bjora before starting just to get them off your tail first...
Throw up FI. Turn on Avatar of dwayna just before engaging. Cast backfire on them. If not aggroed this will aggro them and they will start popping off spells. Health loss is not too horrible from the regen at the moment. Usually they will cast 3-4 spells then cast ether feast... use signet of distraction to interrupt it.
They'll cast another spell or two usually but usually by now your backfire is gone. Now I say to use wastrel's worry because he will spend about 3 seconds running up to you most of the time and should take the damage just as he gets to you. Sometimes it wont work but i'm possitive it will most of the time. When you can put up empathy and hit eternal aura. From there it's just trying to keep everything up. With avatar of dwayna up every skill you use will take off one of his hexes. Mystic regen is the only health skill you need since AoD also does health heal with every skill used also. If he isn't dead just try to get empathy and backfire on him again while keeping energy up.
If you have a bad run against one it could take around 30 seconds or more. But my best runs are... backfire.. distraction... and either eternal aura to finish him off by then or I will try wastrel's worry too. A good run takes little more than 10 seconds to kill one.. maybe 15.
Tips:
NEVER ATTACK. The use images of remorse and clumsiness. Just keep spells up the occasional eternal aura will bring them down.
Just take on one at a time. This can be done to aggro 2 but i noticed creatures drop more usually when you just do one at a time... fooling loot scaling or something... And also I die when i take on two.. and most of your spells are for one target anyway so taking on more is pointless and just gives you more hexes and degen to brush off.
If you really need to, use distraction whenever you can for a quick hex removal+heal for no energy. Or you can recast FI.
Again I looked for a cheap spell like wastrel's worry for reasons of energy management. You'll find yourself at low energy a lot... so I suggest either a +5 weapon or better yet just some domination staff for energy.
Drops have been ok. Some glacial stones but lots of whites. I started off with 5 that were given to me for free but I farmed about 29 others so I have 34 now.. and this is close to about... 3 hours of work? Few more days and I'll have my gloves ~.^ But then again I only been on and off. Stay on an hour, farm, log off.
