Little Advice on Budget Routers
Ursen
I have searched this forum and haven't quite found what I need. I am using a Netgear router WGR614v6, wireless with the game computer connected by Cat5. After a long and frustrating search for solutions to problems encountered, I am going to have to replace the router. There is a heat issue that caused all three computers to randomly disconnect when the room temp rises to 80F and higher. Yes I have gone over port triggering, replaced the cable modem, etc. On the last round I direct connected the modem to the gaming computer, and all was good on the gaming computer while running Guild Wars. So what I need is some input on choice of budget routers. Netgear is obviously out. My PC shop will order for me, at a good price, once I decide where to go. Yes they are taking the Netgear back. I am on a real stinker of a budget, and I need wireless, yet need to stay at or under fifty dollars ($50.00) US. Off brand is OK if it has a proven chip. What do you use for GW and other gaming? This should generate a lot of debate, but that is good. Give some input here please. Oh yes, only 1 computer out of 3 is used for gaming, the two non-gaming are used for Skype, and 1 is wireless.
