okay.. i'm am positive that others have the same problem that i have..
so i recently went to a local market and saw that they had the PC gamer magazines early.
when i first saw the magazines i thought.. if it has a free minipet.. why isnt it in a bag to keep code thieves from stealing the code.. but i looked through the magazine and figured.. whatever i'll take my chances.
well.. my chances turned out to be bad.
i put in the code when i got home to see that it is not working.
i tried many variables of the code that i saw and none worked...
so unless my eyes are really bad.. i am figuring that somebody ripped off my code.
is there anything Anet could do about this?
maybe give me a new code or.. nothing.
i would like some feedback on the matter.

I bought 2 magazines at barnes and noble today, there was a decent amount there. I picked up the ones that weren't "fingered through" and looked untouched.

I do have to agree with the OP, I could not believe it when I saw none of them were wrapped. I went to a Wal-Mart that was open 24 hours, very early in the morning and I saw they had just put them out so, I figured I was safe. The 2 I bought (1 for me and 1 for a friend) worked fine. But again I still can't believe PC Gamer didn't have these wrapped.

Yeah it was PCGamer that dropped the ball by not sealing any of these mags. As has been stated, you can contact PCGamer through means described on the page if the code is bad.

As stated above there is a little note under the code telling you how to get a working one if the one you got will not function.
I have seen the typical con artists selling codes for these pets in Lion's Arch today, someone must have been busy with their camera phones...

Yeah it's pretty common. B&N and Borders let people thumb through (or sit down and drink a coffee while reading) their magazines before they buy them. Previous magazines I picked up for GW and otherwise were usually unwrapped unless they had a disc with them. If you got the disc version you were sure that the code was still good. If you didn't, then there was no guarantee. Of course if there isn't a disc version, you're pretty much out of luck I guess. I don't know which end is responsible for them being unwrapped (may be a requirement from the bookstore).

Wow that really sucks, i noticed when i got ones over here from mags the first was wrapped but the second was only in a carboard box, easily opened, and when buying mine there were 4 of the mags removed fromt he box, with the cd's either missing or out of them.
I woudl imagine a simple problem here is if the mags are more secure then it will make it more expensive, and browsers would not be able to preview them either.
Mind you i would just like to be abel to get my hands on one lol

You need to email PCgamer's customer service or NCSoft support. I Email NCsoft support and they told me that they will get me a working code. So just do that and youll get yours working. Same problem happened for me at Barnes and Noble.

well i know that nobody in allentown pennsylvania plays GW, idk if thats the name all i know is that the wal mart is like the only place there and the rest is corn. so i went to the wal mart and jacked me a code or 2

I plan on buying two copies, and raffling the spare code to the Europeans in my guild that don't have a chance to get this.

Agree to lag of bag or "securtiy" feature over the code - aka you know if someone stole it.

Well I've he same problem. I bought it in local Barnes & Noble as well and of course my key was already in use. So I've contacted the support and I'll see, hopefully it'll get resolved. The email address given in the magazin under the code doesn't work btw.

I saw a guy in the local shop taking pics with his phone of the keys. and ROFL i went and told the manager because i wanted to buy one. He got the kid who was about 12 btw, and found his mom and made his mom buy the whole stack. Aparently the kid had taken 6 keys. lol D:

Same thing here. Key already used/in-use. The magazines looked barely touched.
If multiple people are having problems its prolly the keys didnt get activated or somthing. Just be patient, hopefully it will get resolved in a timely manner

He returned the mag to borders and picked up a clean one at von's grocery store of all places. That code worked fine as the mags there were unscathed by the thieves. Mine from there was fine, his wife's from there was also fine
