What is the point of having multiple copies of 1 book?
fatman12342
what is the point of having more then one copy of a book like the hero's handbook?
xcenic
i think you cant have more than one book...but if you can have more than one! imagine:
3 book at same time= 3 book to give to the dude and have 7500 faction point.
Idk is what i undestain about you question!

if you put the book in your storage he will give you another one then you will have 2
holababe
Yeah, but the quests will only fill up one at a time.
There's no real advantage to having a 2nd one

Neo Nugget
I guess if you were bored or a guildy wanted help you could get credit for it even if you havent finished your first book. No real advantage though.
fatman12342
wait couldent you get all 3 and turn them in to all 3 people?
foo
lets say you want to get rep by filling books, and a guildie wants to do a mission you already done, get a second book, and when the first one will be done, you'll already have the second one started.
quickmonty
As stated, you can put one book in storage and get another one. Advantage of having two would be, as mentioned, getting credit when helping someone else through storyline. You can turn in a completed book for extra reputation with either of the groups. Let's say, you aren't sure at this point who to get the reputation from .... you can hold onto a completed book and start another.
kazjun
I'm keeping one in storage just as a momento. A little reminder of my journeys in the north.
KamikazeChicken
The only point to multiple books is being able to get credit for doing dungeons multiple times before finishing a single book.
trobinson97
can you still get points using the books after reaching rank 8 in the title track?
tmakinen
No, you can't.
kielus
quests are counted only for the book that is most top-left in your storage. e.g. u got 4 books like that Y-X-X-X and you done a quest that was in none of them it'll be counted only in the 'Y' book. Dunno about dungeons but i belive it's same. Bugger
RTSFirebat
Not really "bugger" at all, its to stop people exploiting.
If they all updated you could have a whole inventory of books, complete all the primary quests and then BAM! Instant 20000+ faction points.

It really sucks that you can't gain points at all past r8, but I'm stocking Hero Handbooks for when we eventually can. I tracked the time needed to completely fill an empty Hero's Handbook and it takes just 3 and a half hours total, give or take, not counting merching/in-between time. Most quests can be done in 15 minutes, if that. The only one that really poses a threat to the total time is Destruction's Depths, and that depends on whether or not the game wants to be cruel.
At r8, turn in a total of 48 books once we can, and you can instantly reach r10 in that particular faction.

That's the point- more rep points for your time, especially after you max r8.
R!ghteous Ind!gnation
there is no advantage other than passing to new chars entering eotn
Achilles Antony
^ You can't pass the books on to new characters... they are customized for your character...

One question related to "Master Dungeon Guide", if you take the reward for a completed filled book to one of the NPCs you can re-enter to Duncan the Black dungeon ?

Edit: UNLESS there will be new Hard Mode books and you will not get credit beyond rank 8 unless the missions where completed in HM....

You must be talking about the dungeon guide, unless the point is that it can only be done with dungeon books. <_<
Twisties
I wouldnt mind a second book just to hang on to, it's nice to have a record of where you've been.
Just had a thought (blonde one probably), would it be possible to add another tapestry to the HoM that would hold the completed books? With room for the storage of up to four books, 1 for each Dungeon Book and Quests/Missions book completed in both Normal and HardMode (when it's available).
Would possibly have to move the NPC to the HoM then, so that when you hand the completed books in to gain the reward, the books get placed in the HoM to display.

There should also be a book pedestal in the HoM where you can put 1 completed hero's handbook and 1 completed dungeon guide so you can always look back at it. I thinks its nicer this way then let it gather dust in our storage.
