Question about Olias (MM)

Hi all,

I'm using the Olias hero as an MM, with Animate Bone Minion. I then tried to "upgrade" it with Animate Bone Fiend (even though I guess the higher cost may change the minion army management). Only to discover that Olias is not creating minions, even when I manually activate the spell.

Any idea about what's happening? (I also welcome your comments on the use of Fiends against Minions)

Only thing that comes to mind ..... does he have enough energy?

that's a strange bug. ya lack of energy, or already-exploited corpse is only thing i can think of.

no energy, non-fleshy corpses, already exploited fleshy corpses... it has to be one of these... if it isn't, it's a bug... imo

also if you have fiend and Minion on your bar, he will attempt to raise fiends first cause they are stronger with a greater DPS. Try changing bone minions for bone horror and he should use fiends and horror equally.

Thanks for your answers. I should have mentioned that this is not an energy problem, neither a "corpse" problem (unless there are special requirements on the "kind of dead corpses?)

I'll continue performing some tests, but I need to unlock other minion skills to do that.

I had a similar problem, but it didn't affect me too much so I didn't explore it. I went through a dungeon with both Olias and MoW as MM. MoW had the full compliment of minions, but Olias rarely had more than the golem. The dungeon was the red team vs. yellow team dungeon, so there were plenty of unexploited corpses and they both entered the dungeon with full energy (of course). Don't know why Olias wasn't big on making minions, because I used to use him as MM with the same build and he never dropped his minion count.

You do realize that not all creatures leave a corpse that can be exploited?

Yes, but my question was general (I wouldn't be asking if I knew it was that simple right?). And furthermore I realised that you "exploit" corpse in different ways than creating minions.

Anyway, I think I had a non-existent problem: Olias only had 40 energy and the 25 cost probably prevented him from using Animate Fiend in the situation I originally faced. Now it's working and I'm even creating Shambling Horrors that are really cool .
