Screw players? What the heck is this bunk?...

Cutting corners...

I would love to see where they've cut corners. They may not have done everything you wanted, but they did NOT cut corners. If you feel so bold as to downplay what they worked hard to bring you, then by all means, go play another game.

As for the models, I can't say for sure, but it would be hard due to the increased size of the Norn. But who knows, they might add it. But don't ever crap on ANet because your whiney and selfish.

What does size have to do with it? (keep yer minds outta the gutter lol) In Nightfall we had no problem turning into huge wurms...

A sort of "ghostly" transformation would seem appropriate... perhaps a transparent form coming over/replacing the player. It would not necessarily have to "wear" the player's armor, as it's only the essence...

You all fail at reading the dialogue from Curse of the Nornbear.
Jora: "Wolf is pleased! The Shrine of the Wolf Spirit imbues you with its aura. This magic does not provide the physical prowess we received from the bear spirit, but it will help in this hunt. Invoke the power and then follow your nose!"
So no, you don't get to turn into an animal, since you're not a Norn.

Id like to point out that you have Blessings not Forms. Only the Norn have Form skills.

NPC Norn Bear Form (oddly enough not a blessing either)

Raven Blessing (not a form skill)

Ursan Blessing (not a form skill)

Volfen Blessing (not a form skill)

Even if you don't get to "change form" the skills look like nothing at all and worse than most average skill effects.

All skills (other than Forms) only have a small visual effect and sound effect upon being cast.
All three animal blessings have an animation, no matter how small it may be.

There are plenty of Elite skills with very poor animations.

Norn's don't wear armor in bear form. It would be just like the Dervish avatars..nothing more then a reskin and the norn bear form is already in game.

They probably didn't want to waste time creating a bipedal werewolf and bird form Animations etc..

Okay. I read it.

Now where's my bear/raven/wolf aura?

There's no such thing in Guild Wars. In fact, most things called "aura" are enchantments. Would you prefer that the animal blessings were enchantments instead?

Aura != Form. All playable characters in Guild Wars are humans, and only the Norn are supposed to be able to actually transform. It seems weird to have "Aura" skills in the game separately, but to me its only expected that only Norn can actually transform.

And to anyone saying its Anet screwing us again, please. At least start a separate thread to whine about it so the rest of us know to avoid it.

Are you for real? The EoTN player armor is pretty much the definition of cutting corners.

The animation is there, when the Norn transform themselfs. But it is not in the other expansions. I guess it is a big piece of code that would demand modify past expansions.

Im fine whit it, keep the game running light and smooth.

We already have WOLF, BEAR and RAVEN animals ingame. ANET can use their generic attack animations for the 15 attack skills or so possible under the three blessings.

We can drink potions to turn into beetles, elves and whatever in town. So why are we stuck with such a pitiful "blessing" that looks ultra dumb?

My little ranger girl charging through barricades, going into close combat with her bow - now someone tell me that does not look crappy!

I bet, most people do not use the forms because of this very reason and because they take the elite slot. They would be well worth it, but next time I "pounce" with my wand I know why I do not use them...

Instead of making us pseudo-human bears with clubs, just turn us into the bear/wolf/raven model. Then we use the attack animations of the animals. We do not get to wield a club or something like that anyways.

It would also be different from the norn forms, as we become basically the animal(s) (spirits).

You weren't meant to get the "Form" as you aren't Norn. That's a racial trait and something humans don't have. When people (I mean people who publish official things) talk about Forms, they are talking GW2. Either that or they are sadly misinformed.

"...you'll clear out and secure shrines that can grant you shape-changing skills..."

PC EOTN Gamer Guild Wars Guide pg 86

This issue had to be in production long before EOTN was actually released and the only place they could have gotten their information was from ANet itself.

This particular article was absolutely talking about GW1 EotN (not GW2) and calls theses skills "blessing," "alternate forms," and "shape-changing."

So it is obvious that the original intention was to give us alternate forms but that this was not implemented in the released version.

I suspect it just wound up being a bigger project than they had thought it would be.

Ursan Blessing (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Ursan_Blessing)
You take on the aspect of the bear. Your energy returns to maximum and you have -2 Energy degeneration. You have +10...20 armor and +100...200 maximum Health. All Enchantments upon you are removed. Bear attacks replace your skills. You gain Energy every time you take or deal damage. This Skill ends when your Energy drops to 0.

aspect (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aspect)
as·pect
–noun
1. appearance to the eye or mind; look

So I ask, where is our bear/raven/wolf aspects? The forms are already in the game (pet wolf, pet raven, and pet/norn bear), and Polymock has shown that Areanet can fairly easily change us into monsters. This was ultimately depressing for me, when I used my newfound elite only to find my skillbar truncated with less-than-eight new skills.

EDIT: Note on moving to Sardelac Sanitarium; This thread isn't suggesting they change the skills, this thread is discussing where the forms are.

I believe these blessings are an anomally - correct me if i am wrong.

All the events in game that totally change your skill bar - wurm riding , siege devourers , beetles , aswell as changing your skill bar they also change your avatar, can anyone name an exception where your skill bar is replaced but you have no visual que ?

This dialogue says, that as a wolf you don't have the phyical power of a bear, which is true: you are weaker, but you have other powers (i.e. you can 'smell' the norn bear). This dialog says nothing at all about whether or not humans can turn into bears or wolves.

They are 'blessings' (skills, actually) no forms, but thet doens't me y they can change the shae of the character.
Dervish Forms change their shapes, and are usable by ALL classes.

Humans can't change into 'Werebears' or 'Nornbears' but that doen't mean they can't change into Black Wolves, Ravens or Bears.

They already change into Rollerbeetles, Devourers and Junundu, don't they?
