*Note: Because I haven't been able to get on GW recently cant test it.*

Ok... so, err... this is my first Wind Rider farming build never thought much of them because they were annoying eediots. Ok, so here's the build:

Melandru's Resillience
[Energy-Based Attack]
[Energy-Based Attack]
[Energy-Based Attack]
Any Skill
Troll Ungent
Sprint
Enraging Charge

Attributes:
Weapon Mastery: 12+1+1 (you need the health, the weapon can be a sword or an axe)
Strength: 8 + 1
WS: 10

Drops you are going to aim for:
Elemental Sword (rare drop so don't expect one every run )
Ancient Eyes (merch food)
Golds

Oh yes and this green if you wish to farm it:

Wilderm's Wand
Chaos damage 11-22 (req. 9 Illusion Magic)
Halves skill recharge of Illusion Magic spells (Chance: 20%)
Energy +5 (while Health is above 50%)
Can't tell what the skin is similar in look to



Strategy:
I'm not sure about the quest path, but from Rata Sum go into Magus Stones and go eliminate and Wind Riders you find, and use your running skills, should you get into trouble. When you find some Wind Riders this is your tactic:

Keep Melandru's Resillience up at all costs (this is your main heal. Without it you will die almost instantly)

Use your attack skills to kill the your targets.(Verdant Cascades is a good farm spot; there's a bridge full of wind riders. There's a boss in the middle, if u wanna farm that then Bleeding is a good idea because it has regen.)

Troll ungent has its uses. Do not (and I repeat, do not) use it in battle, else you will be interrupted by the wind rider's 0wnz4g3 interrupting mastery You will, of course, be hit with physical damage from the wanding, but it is not bad - Melandru's Resillience to cover it up. use trolls after battle to heal up.

By the way... try not to die! Wind Rider's hexes all on you at the same time give a godly +16 regen. More than enough to kill them 16 - 9 = 7, so that's kinda bad on the Verdant Cascades boss (Wilderm Wrathspew), 12 - 15 = -3, but this monster's interrupts only works on Spells, since you are of a non-caster profession it's useless on you, so while farming this Boss Troll Ungent is good to go

Ok. Give this build a rounder and hand me some constructive critisism. btw if u don't like it tell me why, if u think it's a noob build tell me why. The only thing that I don't like is 'omg u noob stop posting noob builds', EoTN hasn't got a hard mode lawl so why say hard mode when you can try EotN farming?

Just tried it out, but it doesn't work as good as it sounds.
As optional skills I used;
Cyclone Axe
Furious Axe
Counter Attack
Dolyak Signet

Downsides;
They didn't cast Shame, resulting in only hp 4 regen.
Plus they scatter alot, with Crippling Anguish on you, it is kinda annoying.
Hex downtime -> regen downtime

You can kill them, but I avaraged at about 1-2 deaths per group (which might be because of my quick, hasty & crappy choice of optional slots) but the regen simply doesn't seem enough to me.
Oh yeah, I did the groups just outside Rata Sum.

You can't do it with those skills dude, they interupt anything that has a cast time. That's the only reason why I can't do this.

The only skill that has a casting time is Troll Unguent, and you don't use that one in battle. I've had zero interupts so far (well except that time I tried TU for fun )
Just finished a run without dying.
And got a gold ealier; R9 Bronze Daggers :P

If you use arc-thingies on the patrol route of the riders, hide behind them & walk around back and forth a bit some riders will come within striking range, you can kill a couple before facing the rest of the group, and thus get 100% survival rate. Still it's a bit of a slow/annoying run, but it does work

Ritualist I think is best to use for farming Wind Riders oustide Rata Sum. I just slapped this build together and it works good. Basic Echo VWK Rit with a few changes.

Atrributes:

Restoration: 16 (12+1+3)
Inspiration: 12
Spawning: 4 (3+1)

Usage: (I use "I am Unstoppable" and "Air of Superiority" for optional slots. Which are included with template code.)

-Activate Asuran Title for Extra energy.
-Exit into Magus Stone from Rata Sum.
-Get Asuran Blessing from Shrine.
-Activate Mantra of Resolve, cast Channeling, Arcane Echo, approach enemies and cast VwK, Use "I am Unstoppable" and spam Vengeful Weapon.
-Cast the echoed VwK when first one Runs out of course... by the end of third VwK they should be dead.
-Use Air of Superiority before the enemies die, for extra bonus (if you have)
-Use Resilient Weapon if needed. Or use if you don't have "I am Unstoppable" for the extra 24 armor and to counter degen.

Mmmmm. Dryders in FOW always cast shame on W/Me farmers for some reason lawl. So why not wind riders?

Do you reckon you could use the Melandru's build in combination with the Asuran skill mental block? You will be attacked enough to keep it active. as long as you precast it, i think it should work, and keep most of the attacks off you. Maybe volley them to death?

should work as it is renewed by non-physical attacks, is it?

Shouts are probably the way to go.

How about:

Melandru's Resilience
Mental Block
Volley
I am the strongest!
Go for the eyes! (extra damage and its a shout, so it cant be interupted.)
Never Surrender!

edit: Winnowing? why not? they dont use physical attacks.

Not sure about the other skills. This probably wont work! but its work a go i reckon.

I'm not really sure, go test it

EDIT: I think they scatter when you use AoE attacks. Also do not go all-out AoE because you will lose drops when they die all at once. Try to space out their deaths when using AoE, say about 1 death every 5 seconds.

I tried the build with Melandrus and Mental Block.
It seems to work ok, but would work much better with a higher asuran rank. Its difficult to get the wind riders to hit you, so as to renew mental block, before it runs out. As im only r5 asura, it only lasts 6 seconds and their interupts work from a long range.

Ive been trying with a bonder monk. Might try later without.

From what i can tell, its less good for getting ele swords, more good for getting starfish focii.
ah well.

Ok, with a standard bonder hero. This is the build i was running:

Melandru's Resilience
Mental Block
Volley
Winnowing
Never Surrender!
Go for the Eyes!
Finish Him!
Dodge this!

The final 3 were just for damage and because, with a bonder, you only really need Melandrus and Never Surrender to stay alive.





I also tried it solo with:
Melandru's Resilience
Mental Block
Volley
Winnowing
Mending (i know, know)
Live Vicariously
Finish Him!
I am Unstoppable!

It worked for a while, but its going to need a lot of work. The problem is still getting Mental Block to stay at the start, if you agro them before you cast it they will interupt you, if you dont, they might not get to you in time to renew it.

Either way, i got a gold jagged reaver whilst running it yesterday, so im not complaining.

Cast balthazars spirit.
Keep obsidian flesh and stoneflesh aura up and agro both groups. Walk away, and then they should begin to ball up.
Once theyre balled up cast attack skills in order of the skillbar. I only use glyph of sacrafice for faster kd as they tend to run away sometimes so you could probably change that if you wanted to. (they should all die once you use aftershock)

Cast Mental Block before aggro and keep Melandru's Resillience up.
Each group is about 1-2 minutes. They interupt every skill with a cast time of 1 second+.

Standard Ranger Trapper works also. Find a slot for Trolls and activate b4 you aggro. Not fast due to trap laying but it works!
