55 Mo/x Dealing with Enchant Removal?

Hi,

I just started playing guild wars a couple month or so ago and I am really enjoying developing builds. I started playing around with Protective Spirit and later found these and other forums that informed me of the 55 build (and now many others too! THANKS!).

My question is concerning how to deal with enchantment stripping bad guys. I only had prophesies until a couple days ago when I got Eye of the North. Having never even seen a green drop before I decided to try Kephet in Prophet's Path since he is easy to get to. I started with henchies but after killing him over and over I never saw a drop. I then read that the chance for drop is reduced because of the size of the group. I tried with the 3 heros I got from GW:EN (Gwen hero with an interrupt build is awesome on this guy btw) but still no drop. So I have been trying 55 solo.

But everything there strips your enchantments and the 55 build fails miserably. Thinking there much be a solution given all the skill choices I have been trying various tactics to farm this guy solo. I have not tried spell breaker yet but even so, I wouldnt be able to keep it up constantly. And if I take another elite besides SoJ then I wont have the firepower to kill him. This problem can't be unique to this boss so I was wondering in general how do you combat areas that strip enchantments alot with a 55 build?

Thanks!

The problem is you can't deal with enchant removal without running something like Spell Breaker, and that won't help against things like Chilblains.

Agreed. You have to avoid Mesmers and Necros that can remove the enchantments that are essential to the viability of 55 builds. Generally speaking, farming Kephket solo is fairly onerous for any profession because he/she/it is surrounded with notorius solo farm busters--namely, Chilblains necros, life stealing touchers and traps. It's not impossible, but fairly challenging.

So picking this guy to beat up on as my first 55 boss solo wasn't the best of choices eh?

I'm no expert but I suspect covering the enchantments wont work either since there seems to be a dozen or so bad guys that can strip them. Also they cast Well of Profane so you can't recast them without finding a spot it isn't covering.

Which boss do you suggest I practice solo'ing on first? I would ideally like one with a very short run since I die alot while experimenting...

Thanks for the responses!

first of all kephket is 1 of the hardest bosses to solo farm nowadays. it was very easy but than they added all those mobs around him to make it very tough.
second of all you cant use kephket's refuge if you 55, as you need the -50 off hand to get 55 hp.
third of all prophecies dont have many bosses that drop greens, the only ones that do besides kephket are in grenth's footprint and sorrow's furnace. to get to grenth's footprint you gotta reach deldimore warcamp first in the southern shiverpeaks. than you can do the bosses there however their greens arent very good, the good ones are inside sorrow's furnace which you can enter via grenth's footprint.
however both in grenth and sorrows furnace there are a lot of mesmers which shatter your enchantments and arent considered farmable places for a 55.
your best bet therefore will be EotN, but I dont have that campaign so I cant recommend anything about it. I can recommend factions and nightfall bosses but you dont have these campaigns so it wont help you much...

Preventing Ench-removal with a 55 build?
Not viable.

Health Degen can be countered with Mystic Regen.
Knockdowns can be countered with all sorts of things (I prefer Fleeting Stability).
Health Steal if you're lucky can be countered by using a 105 build rather than a 55 build.
Interrupts to some extent can be countered with careful timing and use of certain mesmer skills.

But Ench-removal?

55hp monks just aren't up to that.
No way, no how.
VwK Rits are the best hope for such creatures... and I don't know if even those can handle the likes of that sand-bug.

Well ... you can counter ench. removal....but probs only with Spell breaker which would mean that you've lost your Elite slot... me and a friend used to duo parts of FoW with 55/SS, with me as the 55. What I used to do was Arcane echo and Spellbreaker with a 20% longer ench. weapon and also blessed aura, this was before Nightfall came out i think.

But yeah - i agree with the other posters - SOLO ther isnt really a way do deal with enchantment removal.
