GW Bonus Mission Pack
I Phoenix I
I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but will there be any means of acquiring the Bonus Mission Pack outside of buying something from the GW store?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Someone told me you could by a CD in a store with the bonus missions at some point in the future but I forget who.
Neo Nugget
nope, as of right now the only way is the online store.
holababe
Also, I don't think you can get it any more.
The time period to buy from the store has expired.

It Expires Oct 31. Then we should be getting it nov 1st.

I though AUgust 31st for some strange reason.
Ah well. I bought EOTN through the ingame store, so i'm fine.

October 31st is the deadline...always has been...
Online Store in Game or the Online PlayNC Store outside of the game.
there are rumors that they will offer it in another form after it's launch...but at this point they are just that...rumors...no truth to them at all at this point.

most likely its a business plan (or ploy) to make the customer think he or she has to buy crap from the online store or they will miss out. Once the deadline reaches and anet cannot benifit anymore for the online store push due to promotion, then they well publically announce other ways to get it (most likely).
roflcopter2445
I got the pvp pack for nightfall during it, so it's pretty much win-win

RPGmaniac
And that way those who didn't get it for no charge from the store can get charged through the local store. More money for Anet.
I bought GW:EN online so I'm good, but gotta love it when corporations really try to milk us consumers for all we're worth.

I was thinking that we could use our characters to play as in the mission pak, but it does make sense why we cant. I wonder if your character you play as, ex. Joko, Togo, is a skin over your character like the roller beatles or corsair outfits. I know we have preset skill bars for them as well, but how do you claim the new weapons we can obtain? I am kinda interested in seeing how this will play out.

the simple answer is, its only available threw purchases on the GW store, and A-Net has already released a magazine article "claiming" thats it will not be available to buy afterwards.
But as loyal devoted GW fan i honestly think this is unfair, not all of us are little mumma's boy rich kids with a credit card or a spending amount, i make as little as $150 and there lots to buy in between, i think they should have mission pack available threw normal stores, and A-Net's basic "I dont care about the poor" just shows how much they care about money compared to there fans(cant blame them, money is the root of all evil)
any way there should be an online pertition to have the Bonus Mission Pack available in normal stores, so atleast the poorer people/credit cardless people can obtain it, either buy layway(laybuy) or just pay cash!!!!
anyway if A-Net makes it only obtainable threw the online store i for 1 am gonna be done with GW, if there not screwing us over with updates, there screwing us over for our money *middle finger up at A-Net*

I don't mean to hijack this thread but people should know Anet isn't trying to screw anyone with this deal. Game publishers take a huge cut from game sales through stores like Gamestop. By selling software from their online store they get more money per sale than they would if it was bought off of a store shelf. Valve is doing the same thing with Steam. I have no problem with Anet wanting to get more money for their work without raising the cost for the buyers. I bought GWEN off the online store so it works out well for everybody.

One last point, $150, I assume that is per month, but seriously, why are you complaining? If it is $150 per month, and your not just some high school kid doing a part time job for spare cash, you should be focusing your money on something more important or less expensive than video games.

So you're going to quit because you can't get to four measly missions? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Neo Nugget
Also, the missions aren't playable with out characters accoring to the GW special edition mag.
We get to play as whoever is significant in the mission we will be playing.
I think it said Gwen, master togo(lol), Saul D'allesio and i think palawa Joko not sure on that one though.

Well, i also dont need anything from the online store, so some way to purchase this directly after everyone has farmed the crap out of it would be nice.

I'm sure they promoted it by saying something along the lines of " gain exclusive rewards " which suggests it'll be linked to your account somehow

Ok, quick question... I have bought two character slots, the EOTN pre-release pack and the GOTY upgrade from the online store so far. Do I need to buy anything else to make the quota? I'm not really sure how much I need, and didn't really pay much attention to how much everything was costing since I was paying in pounds which isn't my home currency...
I wish there was something telling me how much I still had to spend to be eligible, if at all...

There is a way to check. Go to your plaync account, login and click on Billing summary.
You'll see all the purchases you made from the ingame store and the plaync site.
The minimum spend for British pounds is £17

Thanks heaps for that info btw. Would never have thought of that.

I emailed them about the offer saying I had pretty much bought everything I nneded from the shop and asked if they had considered other ways of qualifying.
Suggested a collectors edition of gwen as a possible option.
reply said they would consider other options and intended to give up more things to buy in the store, hense the extra merchantise.
In the end I bought 3 extra character slots and this has given me 3 trader characters and more storage.
Not to mention 3 more minipets a year and more special chest runs each month in NF, i'm happy.

Bonus Mission Pack FAQ
Twisties
I loove the online store, living in rural Australia it's the only way I can buy Guild Wars chapters, expansions, etc. And the ease of being able to add in an extra slot for storage for just $15 when I feel like it/need it. Heck, without the store, I would be still stuck with just one account and that Prophecies only! Can't wait until the bonus pack arrives (late b'day present)

pamelf
Thanks heaps Milan. Very helpful.

Meh my birthday is on 1st of November
So the only thing i would get is
Mhuhahahaha you cant get the bonus pack, happy birthday anyway >.<
But i still want a way that dutch people can buy in the ingame store!
Make paypal or something, but please Anet do something before 31st october ...
I dont have a creditcard, i dont even know what to do with it. =\
It costs money to have one ... So why even get a creditcard. =/
But i think alot of people dont like this way, they even buy a game from "Arenanet", but still they have to hear, "But in the ingame store"
Why then even bring the games in normal stores?

I really would like to use paypal for the online store, its a sensible way forward.
I also feel the online store should be lower in price, online you get a code.
In the real computer shop you get the cd, map rulebook and little extras depending which set you buy.

Why not - I spent £23 in july at the NCSoft store - that was on CoH subscription.
The Bonus Mission Pack FAQ says nothing about the purchase at the NCSoft store having to be something specific to GW , just purchases at NCSoft store
