Am I supposed to keep that Tower Mage alive AFTER he's opened the gate? I killed the Lord guy and then the Mage ran off and started wanding a Wurm. I get back to the guy to turn in the quest and suddenly I lose.

Edit: I flagged all my heroes there with him while I went to collect the reward.
