Great Dwarf Weapon: perfect for a beast master?

I mean, sure, GDW works great on just about any attacking ally, but assuming you're playing by yourself, casting it on your pet might actually be the most easy/reliable way of directing which enemy gets the knockdowns. Also, its very easy to give your pet IAS and as a ranger you might as well throw down brambles. All that still leaves you with about 3 slots to do with as you please.

I havent actually been able to test it out yet, but in theory it seems to me it might push the beast master over the line into something that can actually compete with bow (and other weapon) based builds.

Thoughts?

Nice idea!

How about:

Enraged Lunge
Great Dwarf Weapon
Never Rampage Alone
Brambles
Predatory Bond
Call of Protection
Charm Animal
Comfort Animal

I can't believe I didn't think of this!
Personally I'd add Feral Aggression, with Enraged you'll do amazingly high, armor-ignoring hits. Also, Bestial Mauling might be able to synergize well with GDW.

Here's my idea (not yet tested):

Exp: 12+1=13
BM: 12+3+1=16

Enraged Lunge
Bestial Mauling (watch to see if your pet's last attack kd before activating; should hit right as target is about to get up)
Brutal Strike/other pet attack of choice
Great Dwarf Weapon
Feral Aggression
Predatory Bond/Call of Protection/Run As One/other utility
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal

Now the problem is finding an enemy that is worthy of getting killed by this :P
