PC Gamer UK ~ Minipet issue?

I checked a thread several pages ago on this very board... and it claimed release dates and issue numbers on issues of the UK edition of PC Gamer and some other similar magazine that both supposedly had bonus Minipets included.

According to that thread... the PC Gamer was #180 and was allegedly supposed to be out yesterday..... but having ran just now all the way from Moorgate to Liverpool Street to find WHSmiths and check for PC Gamer, I found that they had Issue #179 for October and no mention of Guild Wars on the cover wrap of that...

Could anyone confirm absolutely in WHICH issues of WHICH magazines in the UK the minipets are supposed to be... and WHEN those magazines come out?

I'd rather not keep repeating today's run until I see results.

Don't worry- according to the PC Gamer forum there has been a delay with the people who put the magazine together, and it will be a couple of days late. The website is www.pcgamer.co.uk, and the thread is in the 'mag discussion' part of the forum. I've just been running around town like a mad person too. At least it wasn't sold out! Just late.

But what confuses me is that Issue 179... the one in the shops... is marked as the October issue. If that was the wrong one then why would a November issue come out at the end of September?

Am I going to have to wait until 25th of October for the right issue?

They're always labelled a month in advance. I'm not sure why that is, but all magazines do it. So the one that comes out in a couple of days is the right one.

Having spent a very wet lunchtime walking around all the newsagents within reach of where I work in Westminster, I was beginning to think they had all sold out already!

.... You're saying Issue #180 ... with the Mini-pet... the NOVEMBER issue.... will come out in a few days? It being September... end of... coming toward October?

Just so I'm totally 100% clear here.

And can I expect the same for the PC Zone one that was supposed to come on..... the 11th of October, wasn't it? Will that be a November or December issue... and will it come late as well?

says on Guild wars euro site that it was supposed to be on the shelves on the 27th, today if i'm still awake. dunno whats happening either, i looked for one myself.

Just treat the month stated on the magazine as the date it should be taken off the shelves. When October rolls around, all those unsold mags are bundled away for disposal.

i just hope it isnt an 18 .. or i gotta wait for the mother pick me up a copy

Wait wait wait, my PCGamer mag at my store is the Orange Box issue. Is this the one with the GW mini pet in it?

I live in Italy, and that link says there is a mag out with a card for one of those minipets that I never knew existed, so I might not even want a Destroyer anymore. :P

Current PCZone issue is November I believe, the one coming out on 11th October is the December one is the logical follow up to that.

Hopefully they won't be 18's, as otherwise have to wait till 4 days after Zone's out before I can pick them both up

btw I only read that the UK one is a few days late because of the cover-mounters, other countries probably have different dates.

I'm still not clear on the PC GAMER promotion here, is it a code where you are guaranteed a random minipet, or does the code just enter you into a lottery for the chance to win one? Can anyone clarify this for me?

If thats the case (which I REALLY don't think it is from reading the page) then there is NO WAY I'll be buying the magasines, £6 or £7 for a CHANCE to win a minipet, no way.

I don't know how much that is American, but I do 2nd that. The magazines are a little over priced... it [email protected] 10dollars + tax (which is really high in NY) to buy the issue... might as well just go to a game gold site and buy 100k for 6 bucks.

Don't forget that you actually buy some lecturing material too, reading it could make it worth its cost?

...... You mean for that cost you don't actually necessarily even get a Mini-Pet IN the magazine but just a small chance of one?

Other promotional offers have had guaranteed pets, haven't they?
