Does armor only work in increments of 5?

Does armor only work in increments of 5? Or does each point count reduce some damage?

I haven't done testing, but I would assume each point reduces by some amount. It explains why some skills give +24 armor against stuff.

I think the 5 increment was there because most skills and all armours are in increments of 5, so was just a easy way to tell.
