New PvE Skill: Hunter's Instinct

Anyone that has tried vanquishing knows the frustration of finding and killing that last patrol, even when the most efficient of kill patterns is used. That is why I am suggesting a PvE only skill for remedying that feeling. It's a sort of modified Light of Deldrimor, only instead of chests it pings the location of the nearest enemy.

Yes, I realize that this will be /notsigned, either because the programming is not viable or that "THIS WILL MAKE VANQUISHING TOO EASY OMFG", but I figured I'd put it out there.

Because really, spending thirty minutes hunting down a centaur patrol doesn't add anything to the challenge except frustration.

The hard part of vanquishing was supposed to be killing monsters (it failed but hush ), not looking for the damn things.

This is exactly what we need to make it easier to track down wandering enemies.

O.o

This needs to be added.

Give four all-together.
One can be in the Sunspear and/or Lightbringer Title Track.
One can be in the Factions Title Track (that'd be two).
One as a random PvE skill obtainable in Tyria (maybe in the Ring of Fire).

No need to add an obtainable skill in GW:EN. It's an expansion, so they can get the skill from one (or all) of the campaigns.

That'd be pretty nice to have for vanquishing. Saves me hours of my life looking for that last mob in all those stupid maps.

Never had a problem with this. Also, is this really worth a whole skill slot on my bar?

Maybe if they made it passive... or something.

Wow, was not expecting this much support. Awesome!

And Kaida, this really should be something that takes up a slot. Light of Deldrimor is useful as much for the map bonuses as it is for the damage.

I would be completely willing to give up a skill slot to recieve the bonus of knowing where all the enemies are, particularly in the Prophecies campaign, where some of the patrols have INSANELY long routes. I can still remember vanquishing Deldrimor Bowl and hunting down the last group of centaurs by following the trail of Winter spirits like bread crumbs. The only reason I caught them was the fact they kept pausing to lay spirits down.

I love this idea. I just tried to do some h/h vaquishing in barbarous shore... yeah that didn't go well. I'll need people for this. But as I went through barbarous shore on normal as well for quests, i found that looking for hidden enemies underground like mandragons SUCKS A$$! So mind numbing to do that.

This title is not really about skill, it's about how long can you keep your sanity... which I guess might be a skill.

Hmmm... you would be ruining the fact that, every time that happens, I get to say,
"Alright gang, lets split up and search for clues!"

Give it some other ability so it's not a useless spot on your skillbar. Like light of deldrimor is an AoE holy damage skill...which is more than useful.

true, but I'll only change my answer if you post up 4 screenshots of that happenening on this thread and then upload your party's reaction.

As someone said earlier, dunno if I'd like to dump an entire skill from my bar, but I would like SOME way to do this.

Considering only one person would have to equip the skill for the whole party to benefit its not so bad.

Maybe good for vanquishing, but also maybe good to avoid the surprise attacks from pop up enemies

considering that pop up enemy's need to be triggered before they appear on the map, and that they are not "really" in the map previous to triggering i doubt that this skill would or should detect them.

Light of Deldrimore on the other hand...

but then again these "surprise attacks" are not really surprising once you have played through the area once.

Hmm. Point taken. I really want to shamelessly plagiarize you the next time I'm vanquishing, because that is AWESOME.

Instead of having it be a skill... why not have it be a blessing obtainable from a shrine. Course then you'd have to make sure there was a shrine in most every explorable area...

Give it the secondary effect, "You deal +1 damage with attacks and take -1 damage for 1..3 seconds for each foe within earshot." Nice and small, but at least it'd be worth something. Light of Deldrimor only needs to be on one party member as well, but it benefits the entire party AND has a secondary effect.
