"limiting a 300-damage Deep Freeze to 60 is pretty damn good, and a hell of a lot more energy efficient than trying to heal through it - just look at the comparisons between, say, RoF and Orison.
Not only that, but Prot Spirit doesn't need to be put on everyone... just people who're gonna need it. which is, like... the point of Prot.
and... PS isn't the only Prot spell."

woot so Ss saved 240 health thats great but if you had a tank that would be 60 less dmg the healer would have to heal anyhow.. your completely missing the point.
yeah all those prot spells work great gaurdian and such are a great help, till a Striper comes along and has fun terring you heart out. A tank is the safest easys't way of controling agro, maintaining dmg and providing support <(besides a paragon). PROT IS GOOD im not saying its not, i run at least one of my monks prot when i group/herohench, but i AM saying prot CANT take the place of a warrior. A good prot monk im shur can keep the party alive, but thats IF you have a good monk.. why make more work.. instead of a tank bring a prot same/same. Never said tanks were better but prot monks arnt better either..

Tank

pros
-good mob control
-great spuonge in sticky situations
-great team supporter (WY+ SU)
-good at absording dmg = saving the monk (prot or healing) from casting multiple spells
-great for agroing
-does decent dmg and conditions
-can utilize self heals and interupts

Cons
-not the greatest against elemental dmg
-very week to Vamp dmg (who isnt??)
-cant control some mobs like a shadow step assassin
-cant heal+protect party

Prot Monk

pros
-great party protection/support
-can also utilize healing spells or divin favor
-great against high dmg spikes
-can self heal and protect

cons
-very energy demanding
-very weak to stirp enchantment skills
-week to vamp damage
-can not agro
-can not control mobs
-can not play wall/def agroing
-can not interupt targets (unless they wana run smite lol)
-can not provide instant support like shouts.
-does some of the lowest amont of dmg in the game

prot monk notes:
(its also a very hard class/build to play a experiance player is needed to get full use of a proper prot monk)
(some of these a prot monk can do but at a high energy cost doing so may often req a nec with blood is power or such.)

--Imo tanks make for a easyer funner group and there easy to play.

I have given point after point wile you sat there and just sayd "no its NOT" like my 5 year old brother. You submited no proof as to your claim(s) that prot is better then a tank all the time or that a tank = fail. wether you think it or not idc I put the points out there for other to see they can way the balance and decide for thereself's.

I am done here

You misunderstand. I didn't mean to imply that using an IAS with Vampiric made it better than Sundering at normal speed. That's a given.

If you truly wish to sacrifice effectiveness for convenience, I certainly have no right to stop you.

Vampiric is ftw and as far as shields go, i personally like stance mods as my war is almost constantly in Flail while doing PvE(Like everyone should be!).

If you're playing the DPS game, then yes, Vampiric > Sundering. If you're killing monsters, you won't notice a difference in your killing power. One randomly kills enemies faster, one gives a minute amount more damage.
