the consensus is yes so far, noone really knows til GW2 is released...

It has been stated that your character names will be reserved for you to use in GW2. I don't know if it would be related to the HoM, I think it is just going to be attach GW2 to your GW1 account and it allows you to use old character names, otherwise they are locked.
