Avatars won't work

I would post in the forum section, but you need approval there. -_-

Basically, I can't get avatars to work, and it was fine yesterday when I changed mine. Today however, whenever I try to upload a new one, I get a message saying "cannot save avatar".

Is this a temporary glitch and is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Also, "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

P.S. Don't make topics in other forums because they need validation here. That's the entire point of validation.

Ya, when the site got back up my avatar was gone as well, it displayed as if there was one but it wasn't backed up when server was moved (so it was missing).

I have tried to add it back, but I keep getting an error as well.

My avatar is 140x140 but it is less than 19.5 KB. I was able to display it before, don't see why the size would be a problem now.

It needs to be 100x100 or less. I don't know if it was changed recently but that's the requirement now.

Mine are always 100x100, JPEG and less than 19.5 kb, so I don't know what the problem is.

I tried again this evening, with both JPEG and PNG file types but still no luck. I'm wondering if an administrator on the site has changed something. I think someone with an avatar needs to try and change theirs to see if they experience the same problem.

Checking into it still. All the permissions are correct, there are staff, guru select members and registered users with avatars so not sure why it's affecting some and not others.

Same problem here. Maybe some profiles just got a bit corrupted during the backup restore process?

I tried changing mine, 100x100, 13kb, PNG format. Was unable to.

Edit: Tried both uploading to gwg, and using a link from photobucket.

same here, avvy's ok but just poofs away when i load a new page.
reuploading does not help and some of other people's avatars are gone too

they are replaced with the "XXXX's avatar" button

I just tried to upload my avatar, no error, but doesn't seem to be showing up. Same problem it originally had.

It's like the image isn't in the proper directory, or it's looking in the wrong dir.

Damn they stopped working again.

I'm seeing a question mark box where all the new avatars should be, but only Kong's actually says "Kong's avatar". Karyuu, Witchblade, and Midnight Harmony only have the question mark box. Those who had avatars before still show up fine. I haven't tried to upload my avatar again yet, but will try once I get home.
