Best/Easiest way to get hero elite skills?

Hi Folks,

I don't have a lot of time to play so I am looking for advice on how to best (and hopefully easiest) way to get the elite skills for heroes for professions other than my main character. I'm about 1/3 the way through NF and it would be helpful if I can get the hero elite skills sooner rather than later...

Suggestions? Thanks for your time,

JB

Other than taking the time to cap the Elites yourself, farming Blathazar's Faction is the second easiest way to unlock elites for heroes. Although you unlock Elites for PvP, any unlocked skill is available to heroes on the whole account.

A Trap Ranger can unlock 3 Elites and 1 regular skill every 5 days (2k limit per day).

Hi FyrFytr, how does a trap ranger unlock elites? I searched on this board but didn't find posts that would explain this?

Basically you go to Zaishen Challenge area in the Battle Isles. And pick Hero's Crypt vs. ViM Trappers. Zone in, hit Serpents Quickness, lay a butt load of traps, and sit back and enjoy the fireworks. Here's a link to a video of it being done.

Zaishen Solo Trapper

Your bar should be like this. Trust me all you need are these 6 skills only.

[skill]Spike Trap[/skill][skill]Barbed Trap[/skill][skill]Flame Trap[/skill][skill]Viper's Nest[/skill][skill]Dust Trap[/skill][skill]Serpent's Quickness[/skill]

Attributes:
Wilderness- 16 (12+3+1)
Expertise- 14 (12+2)
Beast Mastery- 4 (3+1)

Gear:
Armor is fitted with Radiant Runes and I use a staff that gives me +15 Energy (Milius' Pillar)

Okay, after accumulating the desired amount of Balthazar's Faction, go and visit a Priest of Balthazar and hit the unlock skill tab. I'm sure the rest is self explanatory. Just remember, you need 3,000 points to unlock an Elite, and with a limit of 2,000 points a day. It'll take 2 days to unlock an Elite.

Both sound like fun. I always prefer getting the skills myself (and will for my primary and secondary) but my biggest problem is that I'm limited to only a couple of hours of play a week...

If I purchased one of the PvP Editions would that unlock the skills for my heros in PvE?

Well Jdb.....if all you got is a couple hours then you should just do the best you can. Sometimes this game requires players to "Grind" for something if they want it bad enough. Yes, it sucks, but that's life.

I'm not sure if a PvP edition tranfers over to PvE, I wanna say yes, but am not really sure.

There's always the unlock packs... That would be by far the quickest and easiest and since you didn't mention money being an issue, this fits the bill best. Instant and complete results. Every skill in every campaign. Now heroes can do any and every skill build in the book.

jkyarr, thanks for the reply. Could you clarify what an "unlock pack" is? Is that one of the PVP editions?
Have you done this yourself? It says that the rolplaying characters don't have access to the skills unlocked for pvp(which is good) but it doesn't mention heros...

Mind you, I only want it for the heros - I love playing but getting the skills for my primary/secondary take up all the time I have so the hero skills that aren't in my p/s don't get any of the elites.

Heroes get the skills if they are unlocked on the account. (Buying / Capturing / Unlocking Via Balthazar Faction). If you wanted to buy the "unlock packs" you would (probably) enter the online store and purchase the PvP editions of the game.

I originally played through the game as a w/mo and capped every skill i could, so when nf came out i was already loaded up on elites for heros.

To the OP, since you're strapped for time, just pick the elites that you want for the heroes that you want to use and then go cap them. You don't have to get all of them, just pick a few, cap them, and stick with them. Since you're already capping, might as well cap them with your PvE character and get both the experience, title progress, and the skill itself. Unlocking in PvP does make them available to all your heroes, but it does not make them available to your characters.

Yeah but that might not always be an option for skills in areas that are locked due to where the player is in the game as far as mission completion. Or if it is a skill that might be Chapter exclusive like Shield of Judgement.

Main Character => Get Signets of Capture => Get Legendary Skill Hunter.

Problem solved.
Alternatively... you could just get the capture sigs you need for a few elites.... cap the useful ones that are easily aquired (e.g. Light of Deliverance, Animate Flesh Golem, etc) and use Balth Faction to unlock ones that are slightly deeper into the game (e.g. Savannah Heat, Spoil Victor).
I Balthed Searing Flames long before I capped it myself.

If you know exactly what elites you want, the fastest route would probably be to farm the Zaishen Elite with a group of trappers (you can make your ranger heroes trappers as well and maddengly click the skills at the outset for quadruple the fun!). Just pick up the skills you need and go.

I'm going the Legendary Skill Hunter route, though. I wub my Ritualist.

you might be able to unlock like 2 elite skill if you have some good wins

best thing is that u get both balth faction and luxon/the other one :P
