More robust "friends /ignore"list.
blakk
My petition is for a friends list that has more detail.
Guild Wars is a community based game. Its been out for a very long time now, so its easy to get a really long list on your friends list, but then forget why you put them there.
I propose two different extremes:
The minimal:
3 selectable (checkable) buttons:
1. Adventurer (denoting someone who was really fun to quest with)
2.Trader (someone who you like to buy\sell to\from)
3. Friend (someone who you just enjoy chatting with)
Then there is the best case scenario, in which you are able to type in your own descriptions, memo's and reminders
Like:
"Krazy Killer"- good to farm with prefers FoW, UW and the furnace. Decent trader too."
And also an option to see the last login of people on your friends list so you can prune it ect...
New Addition:
I Don't PvP, but I think that this could also apply for them as well:
I would proposes a "stop light system"
Red= Bad Performer
Yellow = Questionable.
Green= Good player.
The more I think of it this is a pretty good universal system. It could be used to "rate" teammates and opponents, But I don't know the pVp world...(help someone)...

That would be pretty useful. I know my friends list is separated by friends and adventurers. It would be nice to have that sort of thing, then you would be more likely to go fight with someone you had a great mission/vanquish/hilarious fail with.

I'd like that. It'd be nice to see at a glance which reliable traders and good PUG-friendly players are on.

You make a char named "Jimmy Something".
You make a friend. He adds "Jimmy Something".
You delete "Jimmy Something" cause you got bored.
Your friend still has "Jimmy Something" in their friendlist.
Thats a MAJOR flaw in our friendlist system.
--------------------------------------------
First...a LARGER friendlist
Unique names. Such name is unique and tied to the account (perhaps using the already existing PvP name system).
Friendlist needs a labeling system (or change local name echo)
Friend highlights in town
Friend sorting (friend groups)
Friend alerts

even though this sounds way too elaborate for a game, i thought about it a few times and actually this wouldn't be a bad idea. it may be too late to add this into the game as we know it now, but maybe this could be a feature added in gw2. i wouldn't mind either way if it was added to this and gw2
but don't forget there is a pvp side of the game and lots of people pvp ._.'
i would say, to make this as general as possible:
allow 3 slots of our choice so we are able to customize the categories ourselves, as in saving builds for templates, just only in flist. this way if some people don't pvp, or don't pve/trade, that there won't be 2 or 3 wasted slots, but rather leave room for "real life friends," "pve/pvp," and "rivals"--or whatnot
i know guild wars is not aol instant messager, but it is fun to allow us to categorize our own friends there without them knowing what category they fit into ^^ all in good fun
though i may add that knowing friends' online behaviors is a bit much. you can already see it if you are in the same guild as your friend, and you know if someone has not been online in almost a month they either ignored you or stopped playing, so after 3-4 weeks, unless you know they got school or work to tend to, it is probably best that they be removed, and added later if the person logs in again and pms you to play/talk. i just think this is somewhat of an invasion of privacy :P
but /signed to add a coherent friend organizer. hopefully customizable to player.

Nice idea, but I don't think Anet is going to change a lot in GW1, when they are that busy with GW2

I haven't seen a massive need for longer buddy lists. Ignore lists maybe. But it would still be nice to have a longer buddy and ignore list that can hold more names and also categories to divide the friends on it.

This is one of the first usefull suggestions that's come out of this thread. About the ignore list limit of 10. Someone will stop talking to you after you've been ignoring them for a day then just remove them from your ignore.

not for the new content.
stop light means confusion with online status. It also means more clutter which i am never in favour of.
if the person is no good then just remove them.

As for increasing the amount of people you ignore... since when have you actually SEEN someone you've ignored again? Guild Wars is too big for things like that. I mean, theres no reason why not, but you must have a godly amount of hate to spread if you want to ignore 10 people for more than a quick 15 minutes until they're out of sight.
