If you've got 'em, add 'em.
* Cripple (You Move Like a Dwarf, Pin Down, et cetera) or slow (Ice Magic or Mesmer hexes) + Health degen (poison, burning, bleeding, Mesmer/Necromancer hexes). Make sure you have a backup, or they are fast-charging, as he will periodically use Purge Signet. Slow him down so he can't hit you and let the degens go to work.
* Consumables; the EOTN items Essence of Celerity (need Asura rank 3) and Grail of Might (Norn rank 3, also you get one from Prenuptial Disagreement) can tip the balance in your favour if you're -almost- beating him but not quite. You can always craft more, and you get at least one of each through questing, so if nothing else works it's worth it to use them here. However, they DO NOT carry over from match to match since you technically zone out and back in; only use them in the match you need them.
* Any kind of pet or summon can help a lot; either a Ranger pet, or the Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support skill (which is very useful in all the matches leading up to Magni as well), or any of the Asuran summons.
