To beable to get to a stage where im enjoying playing the game. Getting to see some end game stuff like the new lvl20 expansion without ppl leaving to go to the new game. I love Guild wars as it is, i just dont wanna enjoy it alone. Ive got no friends as it is...

I recommend you to make 1 character and do all things you want to do on that chrachter. You will see much of the game then and you will see some elite things too.

i tend to make just 1 character. i dnt like grinding the elite skills on the rest if ive already done it once. Hopefully its not nerfed too much since i last played. I remember being one of the beta testers...ahh the days.

If your going to start now I would suggest picking up Prophicies + GW:EN.

This will give you lots of content, access to Heros and plenty to do untill GW2 comes out if your planing on jumping to that. GW1 will still be playable and fun long after GW2 comes out so no worries about not getting your moneys worth.

This is just my opinion ofcoures, but for the money it costs for 1 ps3 game, that won't last you more than 20-30hours before you completely get bored of it GW is fantastic.

Here's the official wiki link for GW2. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2

As you will see, there is no official release date. Gaming news sources have speculated that it will be released late-2009 to mid-2010. ArenaNet has said nothing.

Don't waste your time on guild wars. There's very few people in the game. Most towns are inhabited by crickets.

Is that why there are often 4 to 7 districts of a town, because they are empty? what towns are you going to?

In that case, I'd say no. It isn't worth it for you.

You said you played "ages ago" and quit; if you quit because you couldn't find other people to play with, you'll really be disappointed now. There's even less people on now regularly, they're spread out over 4 games, and the majority(me included) only seem to hero/hench missions and have no interest in partying up with other humans.

Didn't someone do a price comparison about this?

If you play all three campaigns over six months, its more worth it than WoW + BC + subscription. Or something like that.

As for worth, thats another thing altogether. Arguably, games are at their best just before the next version comes out. That is because there's plenty of content and things have been ironed out.

Nowhere near the truth. It would be a bit closer to say that there are lots of people playing, but not that many people willing to play with other people, thus the single-player feeling.

And still most of the times when i want a PUG i can find one. So for missions and all it is not to hard to find a PUG.

I'll advise you to wait for GW2 betas.
GW1 won't have anything new from now for you, and you'll have hard time finding a guild with nothing unlocked and unability to help in any manner (Endgame PVE or PvP).
Unless you're a no-life of course. But many people have all chapters and they are needed to stay competitive or even to get an easier life in PVE.
So... Unless you've a guild awaiting you and willing to powerlevel/powerunlock your character you'd better wait 2008.

question is, why did you quit in the first place? The issue that caused you to leave may still be there and cause you to quit again. Also, there are only some towns that are empty. Hop around the game for a bit and you'll still see a lot of people around.

I think Guild Wars is still worth playing for newcomers(also, the more new gamers doing early missions, the better). Of course you'll need all three campaigns and the GW:EN expansion to get the full content that's out there. But you can try one campaign to see if you like the gameplay itself. Go ahead and try a trial edition.

Next time you log in try to open your eyes maybe then you see people ... if that dont work try to change dist because problably you are in a dist 7 or 8 of a town.
About people join parties i still had np to join parties till now and theres always good guilds accepting people to help.

As replay to the thread starter if you liked Gw when you played you will liked it again ... but ... if your another player that each time you face a hard mission come here to complain against anet and the world i recomend you get another game to play ...

Don't waste your time on this opinion, GW is still fun and you can find people to play with. Find a friendly guild and enjoy yourself.
