Tormenteds in HoM

Any news on whether or not they are planning on allowing tormented weapons to be placed in the hall of monuments?
That would be pretty stupid if they didn't. They are the same type of thing as destroyer weaps, and generally look better too.

No. Anet isn't going to change what they allow on the monument of valor because they're likely trying to keep it fair for people who only own a single campaign. I understand the idea of fairness is a reach because of the Black Moa and Imperial Phoenix, but Anet tends to reason like that. :\
SkyHiRider
Well if you look at it from the point of view for titles, anet inst "fair" to those who own another campaign, because they cant get titles that are in those non owned campaigns(naturally). I hope that one day, Anet will wake up and say: what, we didn't implement tormented weapons in HoM? And you said that only a million times? well you should have told it a million +1 times, maybe we would have noticed earlier...
OS T
or maybee just make the players choose what players wanna have in the HoM,much better..

I have a different theory regarding why only the destroyer weapons are displayable.
We're 200 years in the future. An ancient ancestor of ours saved the world from the nasty ole Great destroyer and his minions and grabbed some of their weapons as trophies.
But now the dragon beast awakens and starts making trouble all over - and those very weapons:
-are just the thing to show the new batch the what-for;
-that have gone cold and dormant in the years now awaken once more as their father's power is once more rekindled;
-are a mighty symbol to the despairing people that VICTORY IS POSSIBLE!;
I.E., I'm betting on lore consequences.

I can understand why nothing from other campaigns can go in. Factions and Proph don't have end-game items like Tormented. It would be nice if they were added, but I doubt it. Maybe they will add a new type to GW:EN. Again I doubt it, but man are destroyer weapons ugly.
Molock
I think all gold, req.9 or lower weapons, shields, focus, etc should be displayed in HoM.. lol

Wahhhhh what factions don't has that what about the zodiac weapons
And torment weapons aren't end game weaapons those are elite weapons
the end game items are the ones you get by useing your book of secrets
And your amy of the mists and droks key
So in my book
Zodiac weapons
Tormented weapons
Destroyer weapons
Are al HoM worthy
But then yet again i think players should choose there own weapons they put up for show in there HoM.
Couse some people play like 8 chars+ someone like me who has 9 chars
where of 6 i want to get to GW2 iff i have to make like al those destroyer weapons for my Necro, Ele, Para, Rit, Monk, Ranger ill be broke in no time couse i love my prayer of the forgotten (spear) and my zodiac weapons (necro/monk/ele/rit) and my storm bow and zodiac bow.
So allow more weapons in the HoM but restrickt it on greens and golds of any Req 8 to 13 iff you wish (req golds only offcourse)

/agree, torment and zodiac weapons should be in the HOM, I don't agree that all green and gold weapons should because that would be a programming nightmare, but as elite weapons especially torment, come on now. the skins are way cooler than destroyer and they're far harder to get and more expensive.
Zahr Dalsk
Greens should be allowed. They're unique items.
Malak Revan
If any greens are to be included it should only be the endgame greens from Factions, Nightfall, and EoTN, (which could also be counted as Proh endgame greens).

Greens and golds should be in you HoM couse iff you allow destroyer zodiac and torment weapons only you exclude the not to wealthy players
And anet would be foolish iff they only care for the more rish and to filthy rish players.
So yes it would be more social for al playes in GW and in mean all players that they allow all greens and golds couse you start GW2 with a big hole between players already iff you only allow 1337 weapons (skins).
I think everyone should have the same privilege when they start with GW2.
So iff you allow elite weapons only you already see in GW2 who whas rish and had the most in GW
And for the programming thing it doesn't matter yes it would take more time but that what makes it worthy to play to know that the game designers gave there best for ALL PLAYERS not only the highend players

I think they should at least add tormented weapons, but this has been suggested like 100 times before. I would prefer it if i could add my perfect tyrian fellblade to the monument though, oh well, i can dream...

This may sound crule but i think people gettin a bit egoistic here.
The only thing i read is add torment weapons add torments.
Doesn't anyone care more for the lesser wealthy people ingame.
I know that it's easy to say for some of us couse we have torment weapons.
But think of the other players who have non of that stuff.
They count to you know atleast for me they do.

The HoM unlocks undisclosed stuff in gw2, that is all it does, the end.
They have come forward and said that the HoM unlocks in gw2 will give NO advantage to a gw1 player over someone that has never played gw1.
This is 1 of the only games that has tried to let players carry over something from a previous version, almost every game says start over like everyone else.
I fail to see what importance other than," oooooooooooo look at the pretty on the wall" this has. inhale/exhale/move on.

Horseman Of War
I think it should show all the 'leet' rare skinsets.
Anet should add some of these (plus more along similar rarity/vanity lines) to the list of usable HoM weapons:
FDS/IDS, Icy/Fiery Blade Axe, Magmas Shield, Elemental Sword, Dragon Staff, pre-order weapons, dead family (sephis axes too), zodiac family, torment family, shadow family, mursaats, eternals, chaos axes/stormbows, colossal, elite greens (urgoz, kanaxai, heirophant, mallyx) just to name a few off the top of my head.
Good place for me to throw in: Anet should make shocking dragon sword, eternal spear/scythe, etc wtb chaos spear lol

Yes thats true, but for someone that bought all campaing, and spend the money on it, what weapons can he carry over to gw2 ? NONE !!!, just destroyer weapons from EOTN ,because tormented weapons are out for example, and that is not fair, because we have also spend money on all the campaings, not only in EOTN, so we MUST have some "privilege" for spending all the money in every campaing, don't you think so ? (because apart of grinding, we are talking of real money, that hurts more that grinding.)

You do NOT get to carry destroyer weapons over to GW2, they unlock something there, most likely a title.
So it makes no real difference what items you display in regards to rewards for GW2, however if you include destroyer weapons your reducing the amount of time and effort put into playing GW:EN. They want you to spend more time playing GW:EN, that is the only logical reason for limiting the HOM to destroyer weapons.
Personally I wish they allowed all weapons to be displayed, with only Destroyer granting unlocks in GW2.

I can see everyones point here, but one.
Tormented weapons were hard to get. Are hard to get. I've casually tried to get a Tormented Shortbow for around 4-5 months now, farming gem's here and there, but not intensively. I'm nearly there, but it does prove that they're not an easy to get. In contrast, I have a Destroyer weapon already. They also work like the destroyer weapons, only available perfect from a crafter. They should be allowed in.
To those who say that the destroyer weapons remind generations to come that they have a chance, as we did, I remind you of what my character said to the Istani public service rewards group: "Hey, I killed a God! Surely thats worth something!?". Yeah, destroying an ancient threat from times immemorial is pretty darn impressive. But we killed an omnipotent being. If future generations can;t get hope from that, then I don't think some destroyer weapon would stop them throwing themselves off the Cliffs of Dohjok.
This, of course, opens the floodgates to dropped Gold and Green weapons. Yeah, it would be difficult to update it so only perfect weapons were let in (and greens are already perfect). However, this, again, leads to problems. I identify two:
1. Yeah, its nice to have a remnant of GW1 in the sequel. But there needs to be a difference between the two games. You can't just have all the same weapons in the sequel. You could just let a few of the rarer items be allowed in, but... well, GW2 needs new rare weapons to be found and loved, like those we wield now. I would like to see my storm bow in there, but I also look forward to finding a new longbow in GW2 for my luring capabilities, looking through the different types, finding my favorite, and snapping it up.
2. It would make rare weapons really, really, expensive. A hall-worthy Storm Bow or Fellblade would be worth 100k plus many ectos. This make certain weapons unattainable for even dedicated players, and bring business to the doors of gold sellers.
The point I don't agree with is to let those poorer players put their cheaper weapons in. Gaile has said it all, really. A casual player can play the game properly, thats the wonder of guild wars. Sure, they may not have the rarest weapon in the game, but you can get a perfect weapon from trade and a collector for around 15-20k, which you can make from simply doing quests for a week. However, there has to be a reward for the players who spend more time playing the game. After all, what is a trophy worth on "everyone gets a trophy day". What is a Nobel prize, or a Olympic gold worth? Yes, thats a bit different from rare weapons on a game. But still, you can't demand for the best armors, weapons and titles without the "work" (if you call it that).

Yes,
Also, this is the main reason why Guildwars fails, and Anet need Guildwars 2.
I really don't like the idea which is about stand-alone chapter. It causes that the development of later chapters must be restricted. In other words, some great idea cannot be done since Anet should consider the "fair" for the players who only owns older chapters.

Sure, let greens in. However, I believe that you should only be able to let high end greens in. Thus, Elite missions and dungeon greens should only be allowed, such as those from Deep, Urgoz, DoA, and Slaver's.

Personally, my tyrian fellblade (which was the real weapon I used to strike down the lich, glint, shiro, varesh, abbadon, the destroyers, not some trophy taken after the fact), which I've had for over two years and finished 3 campaigns and an expansion, looks better than the either. But I reckon that anet should just add in some of the more popular skins, like fellblades, colossals, crenalateds, IDS, chaos axes etc.

Does everyone in guru have short term memory, doesn't any remember the armbrace druping incident. I mean do you honestly beleive that all the duped armbrace were removed when the duped was discovered? Of course not, Gaile admitted people who bough duped items unknowingly didn't get banned or items removed from account, plus there probably others that didn't get hit by their scans.
Adding rewards to a known duped item would be irresponsible honestly. Yeah i know they do require a great deal of work to get legitly, but the dupe did tranish them in my eyes.

I payed a ton for this weapon, spent a long time trading gemstones to gather enough resources. Therefore I surely would like to keep it beyond Guild Wars 1. And being the most exclusive series of weapons, the Tormenteds should be added without any doubt.

I think all rare skinned items should be allowed in HoM. A lot of these areas are dead because people are spending time in GW:EN. We have 2 years to spend playing all the campaigns including GW:EN before GW2 comes out. It would be a better choice to get other areas busy again and allowing these weapons in the HoM might inspire people to go play the other areas again. Something needs to be done, otherwise the other areas are going to die out and the game will be very boring. I don't want to play this game for 2 years in 1 area (GW:EN). A lot of people are very unhappy with GW:EN and don't enjoy playing the area. Anet shoudl start thinking about how to repopulate the other areas to keep us players who don't like GW:EN. I know a lot of players (including me) that are talking about quitting GW because they don't want to play GW:EN and since the other areas are dead they are forced to be bored or play GW:EN. I am not planning on buying GW2 and going to be leaving GW if we don't get DOA and the other elite areas back to a decent population.

Too much speculation going on here. And a lot of different topics are being thrown about.
As it stands on no knows whether or not A.net ever plans to allow other weapons besides Destroyer weapons into the HoM. Till then we may as well wait and see.
I suggest you create a thread in the suggestions forum to suggest that Torment weapons and other ideas should be added. But you most likely find that its already been done.
Closing.
