Slavers' Exile and Duncan the Black [MERGED]
Lady Raenef
I don't PvE very much, so when it comes to making builds, I fail, but I'm not horrible. I can't beat Duncan nor find a pug group that's compatible. I have ten maxed titles, and I'd love to get this dungeon done in normal mode to make my Asuran title close to max, but this guy is just so damn difficult. Someone should help me. :P
While I've read some of the above suggestions, the few groups I have got has tried many of them and failed. I don't want to get lame pugs. My guildies are too lazy to do the dungeon to care, so I'm at a loss on that.
I'm willing to pay 10k to the person who can form up a Duncan NM group and complete it as well. :3
Anyone who has beaten it on normal mode with H/H want to share their builds?

(I wasn't sure if I should put it here or EoTN part of the forum.)
my guild leader recently caught up with me in slavers (as in, he just got through the rest of the dungeons except duncan)
trying to come up with strategys which are somewhat foolproof, he brought up using [Defiant Was Xinrae] against duncan so he wouldn't take any damage from duncan (or not much at least and the hero monks can heal the rest of the damage that gets done by duncan or spirits)
would this strategy work? I figured even if it is not as good as prot spirit, it might still work, and I can always die next to duncan so [Signet of Sorrow] can be used. along with Spoil victor but I thought I would ask and see what people thought here so we don't waste our time doing something that won't work much at all >_<
edit: what the skill says on here is different from what it says on wiki O.o I guess it was changed recently and I never noticed it til now

Wasting your elite skill for a prot spirit type spell doesn't strike me as useful. Granted the energy cost is less, and it lasts longer, but I can think of more useful elites to bring to Duncan.
In theory, it would work though.

This dungeon is becoming quite frusterating with H/H, and if anyone has seen what PuGs are running you know that they are out of the picture. any tips of things i might be missing to make this a little easier?
the enemy 'parties' seem to be huge, most of the elementals seem bound to the stone summit groups.

Carboplatin
the key is to spread our your party. I used to HH this all the time and the easiest have always been spreading them out.
Using your three heros, flag them in a triangle where they are close enought to attack a single target, but too far to be hit by searing flame/energy burn/surge.
Using your henchmen flag, flag them behind the triangle of heros, again, close enought to participate, but too spead out for the mobs's AoE.
shouldn't be too bad once u get the hang of it.

Squishy ftw
I used the exact same tactics as Langdon just described with h/h and I also brought 2 copies of [cry of frustration] and I was a warrior running 2 interrupts myself, keeping an eye on the major aoe spells.

If you run a competent all human team you should complete Forge in about 1/2 hour. Forge is one of the cleaner and easiest of the 4, running the Slaver's Build: http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Te...aver%27s_Exile
Unless you really like to micromange heros, you may want to get the skills for the team build and join in the fun.

Try doing long pulls-often times you can get the elementals to seperate out.
Can you give us some insight into your hero setup?

I know many players know this as this is not a new technique as it was used in DOA a lot before EotN and the split of NM/HM. Also this post is not debate about the team build:http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Te...aver%27s_Exile
Just would like the monks complement each other with this slight modification to the typical monk builds:
[build prof=Mo/E prot=12+3+1 div=12+1][zealous benediction][protective spirit][seed of life][blessed signet][vital blessing][life bond][balthazar's spirit][rebirth][/build]
Now Vital Blessing is often replaced by Dismiss Condition [dismiss condition], which is not the point of this post.
The HB monk is where the significant shift in thinking is. Often the HB monk bring the following:
[build prof=Mo/E heal=12+3+1 div=12+1][Healer's Boon][Dwayna's Kiss][ethereal light][Seed of life][heal party][glyph of lesser energy][Jamei's Gaze][rebirth][/build]
What I suggest is dropping a skill in the HB bar to make room for Life Bond[life bond]. The use of Life Bond is not to help the tank, but to help the monks do their jobs. Having it on the HB helps in two main ways.
1. Coupled with Balthazar's Spirit[Balthazar's Spirit] on the HB monk, it will provide energy to the HB monk when the tank gets hit.
2. It will provide a way to heal the tank with Seed of Life[seed of life] without getting close to the tank, by having the monks cast seeds of life on each other.
(it will not help the Tank as the higher Life Bond will take Presidence and this will be from the Bonder)
So the build I suggest would be something like the following:
[build prof=Mo/E heal=12+3+1 div=12+1][Healer's Boon][Dwayna's Kiss][ethereal light][Seed of life][heal party][glyph of lesser energy][life bond][rebirth][/build]
The application of bonds would go like this:
Tank - [Life bond][balthazar's spirit][vital blessing] from Bonder Monk
Tank - [Life bond] from HB monk
Bonder Monk - [Balthazar's spirit] from Bonder Monk
HB Monk - [Balthazar's spirit] from Bonder Monk
Durring battle the monks would swap casting Seed of Life[seed of life] on each other which is triggered by Life Bond[life bond] when the tank gets hit. So each monk knows when the other has cast seed of life[seed of life] for maximum time coverage and healing and the monks do not have to get close to the tank to apply, which risks pulling aggro or other interupt issues. (if the bonds get stript this will not work, so the monks need to be careful of this)
With the addition of Balthazar's Spirit[balthazar's spirit] from the Bonder Monk onto the HB monk, the HB monk will get energy when the tank gets hit, which is when the HB monk will most often need lots of energy.
Now I know many know this, but just wanted to bring attention too it again as I do not see it as often with this team build as I would like. When I go with my Guildies they will not go without this type of set up as it works very well.

Me and my friend did it on NM. After endless hours of spamming GLF 1 sv swap, 3sh eles,.. We decided to do it on our own with heroes.
I took: [build=OwcS8YITEEzEba5gBE1D1ZyE]
Really easy to use, aura of faith to fuel WoH, chain aegis, swap for spirits.
I had 2 necros and 1 warrior hero:
[build=OANCQsxjKsNMIMDrwpaVFNC]
SV for damage, lipe siphon for self heal and few more damage skills.
[build=OANDUslfSLVVBoB4BJg1DBETVA]
Disable aegis and chain it.
[build=OQASE5JPiFwSYJOyXNswFBA]
Not the best bar, but still rapes shit.
My friend had 1 ranger hero and 2 necro heroes.
My friend: [build=OwYT04HCRSjY6bjIHseIgAZQmAA]
Chain aegis, heal.
[build=OANCY8xUegdglQZAj4uzUFaE]
Fuel for minnions and ss is great damage.
[build=OAhjYghsoOWbMm0cyNMHnV1kLA]
[build=OggkclYXmKqzi5xoawYFHj91RAA]
Splinter barrage is awesome damage, fs for dwarfs and interupts for vampiric touch and Vampiric bite.
Getting to Duncan was a pie, we even agroed 2 groups and had no problem. Got there with 0 deaths.
Then my friend ran next to duncan to spawn pops. We both flagged heroes back. When he died i ran and agroed them around 12 and killed with heroes flagged back. Then swapped spirits near stars to the right(we killed group patroling at right side).
For the boss killing, Goren didin't want to die next to Duncan so my friend had to do it. Then i flagged my sv hero into corner, disabled all skills and started spamming. After about 10-15 minutes we got Duncan down .
Screenie:
I think we could do it in HM too. Sometimes our fs wasnt positioned good but who cares if they ress, we killed em anyway.
Gl with duncan in NM and HM.

If you can, have you or one of your heros tank and group them up. the flowstones and burning spirits come into melee range which makes it easy to AoE them. Don't forget to keep your distance between you and your tank, as well as FS.

Is it possible to use a perma shadow form sin as a tank down there? Seems like a viable way of defeating Duncan, as he takes no damage (as long as he doesn't attack) while Duncan kills himself with SS trying to attack the SF sin.

After DOA has died Slavers has been revitalized, so was surpized that you could not join a group. It is much faster and easier doing it with a human group than with heros. We could not find an SV/SOS necro for Duncan in HM one time and took a hero and it worked fine. But if you are taking a team such as suggested in the PvX, human damage dealers are what you want.
Now it seems there are more folks doing the v-chest farm, Thomas, than anything else.

This is mostly meant for people that are familiar with the 600 Rit/Smite, using the 4 man team. We are farming in Hard Mode. I have been working with my friend on farming Slaver's (Justiciar Thommis, to be exact), and we ran into a problem. We can easily get past the first few mobs, but once we get to the centaurs, we just can't beat them. Any tips/suggestions?
EDIT: My friend always runs up to check for spirits before a mob, and keeping my enchants up is never the problem. My main problem is that my Health slowly dwindles down, while the centuars barely take any damage. I know that I have Retribution, Holy Wrath, and Shield of Judgement on, so they should be taking damage. Even when there is only one or two monks, I just have a problem with dealing damage, and I'm not sure why.

Heh I would suggest not trying to 600/smite in any location where spirits of disenchant randomly spawn and strip your enchantments
But if you must.... make sure you keep up Shield of absorption whenever possible, maintain frozen soil any time enemies have res skills, bring lots of interupts for the healing foes and make sure someone stays back out of range with Unyielding aura on his/her bar.
I tend to think that slavers is not a place you can really do the whole 600/smite thing, but I'd be glad to be proven wrong...

I have been trying to finish Duncan the black dungeon (HM) with only heroes and henchmans, although i could fight my group to the end of the dungeon with few consets, I couldn't kill the boss. My character is elementalist, so does any ele here finished this dungeon in HM with just H/H? If so, do you mind share your build with me or help me in the game? I would be really appreciated, and also happy to pay for your time if you can help me in the game.
I really need this dungeon to be done cuz thats the only one left in my book which means 15k points...
Forgive me about my poor English, I'm not a native English speaker.

bring a necro hero with Spoil Victor and Signet of Sorrow.
Bring Prot spirit on a hero
Bring Swap on a hero or urself
Once at duncan, swap all spirits near the base of the stairs away.
Flag the SV there, force prot. Kill urself at duncans feet.
Force the necro to slowly kill him. Eventually u will win. If you can get to duncan that is.
Just dont let PS drop.

If you're an ele....Swap isn't necessary. You see those nice STATIONARY spirits that CAN'T RUN? Sure they'll respawn, but with careful energy management you can continue nuking the hell out of them while you kill ol' Dunky.
The SV trick is prolly your best chance with H/H as they are pretty dumb. If you have real people, then you get alot more options (things like perma-KD, Wail of Doom etc.) and the SV trick becomes kinda crappy.

Did it last night with my gf, the dungeon took over 2 hours in total (just duncan) but alot of that time was spent, pulling carefully, clearing out ALL popups, and I was the only one who brought Swap so I had to take care of the spirits myself.
The fight with duncan took 15 minutes, My gf was prot spirting my hero with her two monk heroes while I microed sig of sorrow (after killing myself next to duncan)
in retrospec, I should have brought SV along, it would have gone quicker, or even SS and empthy (which I would do it i ever did this in HM)
but we did it for the first time and I am proud of us for it ^_^ was a tough uphill battle but we still did it
