Korean name?

the last few weeks I saw many peeople with korean/jaoanese names and I was thinking I want a korean name too!

I've found some korean ''symbols''( or whatever you want to call it xD) but I cant use them when i create a new character can any one help me with this?

I think you need the korean version of the game to do that

Order from a korean shop or something. I don't know.

If you get the korean version of the game all text will be in korean.

The reason you're seeing korean names is because of the change they made to favor and the ability to switch to foreign districts at will without changing it in your options.

You can get into guilds with foreign characters though.

Which can be changed easily under the default F11 (what I love about GW), assuming that you can manage getting the account by using online translators.

I'm not sure why else you would want another version, though. I'd imagine that there are a lot more active players on your current server...?

Random fun facts:

Running around with an Asian name in International districts...
(1) people will be amazed that you understand and speak English
(2) getting quite a lot of questions like: so what does your name mean... uh, Asian person?
(3) and our beloved racist comments :P

You don't need an Asian name to get those. Trying playing a black character and on occasion you'll encounter racism at its worst.

I've noticed that ever since Anet implemented the /report feature and admitted to recently banning accounts, the game is becoming less offensive.

Do you mean your character being black or being a black person in RL? Either way is bad, but I'm curious.

A while ago I used to play a black-skinned warrior in Guild Wars Factions and I was verbally attacked by people all the time, I got called the N-word alot, made fun of, insulted because of my character's skin colour, and more stuff like that. Only because I decided to create a character which looks nice to me.

I'm not even black myself, as if that actually matters. Hell I don't care what someone's skin colour is in real life and even less about some game character. But I guess some racist people think otherwise.

You can only switch around between the American, European and international servers. The Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, etc.. servers are still off limits to folks who don't have a game brought from those areas. And even if one managed to grab a foreign asian copy, the only access they'll have with the American and European servers is through the int districts, which for the most part are empty. Really not worth the hassle for a few Korean symbols in your name.

I find choosing a character name very hard some I take from books, my mesmer was named after a famous stage magician.

But I have used Norse Japanese Chinese and Tibetan names.

Do internet searches for name generators just type it in as a question and you will be amazed.

I know you don't get to use korean characters but its still worth considering.
