Formation

Just an idea I had whilst vanquishing.
If no-one is on or interested in my guild when vanquishing, I'll often do it on my own. This is fine most of the time, and don;t worry, this isn't a 7 hero debate. However, I've found one thing. I'm running in front of my tank hero. Now, I don't see the point in this. I mean, its fine on static groups, when I can flag a hero into the enemy groups. However, pop-ups will take my groups badly. This may be intentional, I don't know. But it would be nice to be able to set up "formations" for my party when I am moving.
It would work from a side bar. You would be given 1 to 8 little flags, which you would be able to move around. Each one would represent an AI in your party, save the one that would represent you. You could, say, have flag one (a warrior hero) at the head of the group, and flags 4 and 8 (monk heroes) to the back. Then, whenever not in a battle situation, the AIs would take that formation.
What do you think?

I'd like to see something like this occur. I'm a squishy most of the time, and I'd like one of the warriors (heroes or henchies) to run in front of me.

As a monk, I totally understand that problem...especially when Zhed and Tahlkora seem to keep up the best. I would even go for preset formations, if nothing else.

Course, taking into account Gaile's recent post, this wont happen in GW1. Be nice to see in GW2, though.

This have been done in other games, like Baldur's Gate, but they have fixed places for characters. So Character in the slot A gets possition A in the formation.
So, the most important part in formations, is being able to set who gets in which place of the formation.
