while pondering general Alliance communication, interaction as well as guild management i came up with this.
Alliance Hall. same as a guild hall really but one that all alliance members can travel to. it would enable proper Alliance Officer meetings as well as encourage general alliance interaction.
I dont think it should be a "arena" style setup more of a market or chat center.
but thats personal taste really.
NPCs would be represented of course.
If the alliance leader would have to pay for them (NPCs) or would the Alliance Hall simply take what NPCs had been unlocked from the other Guild Halls is to be debated.
pros: it is a useful money sink (anet likes money sinks) and may promote grind (some players enjoy grind)
cons: see above.
It could have a whole gaggle of extra options but...thats another subject.

why not simply meet at the alliance leaders GH? :P

Everyone of any guild can travel to any guild in the alliance... Pointless.
What we need is to be able to open up a member list for each Alliance guild to see who's online or not.

Here's an idea, give us more guild halls, and add some that rather than being designed around an arena, are made entirely for socializing, like towns, maybe styled after the existing towns/outposts in Guild Wars... rather than having a bunch of empty space.
As for GvG, well, for the guilds that do do GvG... they don't have to use those halls.
Just a random thought

Can't you just say of let's meet in (guild names) hall?

yes but then you just meet up in someones GH theres no "alliance" feel to it. its not inspiring. Alliance Halls should be the hub of inter guild communication and chatting.
having to pm or announce "meet up in such and such hall" is the equivalent of going to someones house. "meet up at the alliance hall" is like gathering at Camelot.
I have been in several alliances and frankly its a bit crap how there is NO difference to GW gameplay for people a little more involved on the PvE RPG side of things.
the least the could do is acknowledge the fact that we are in one properly.
@ Matfei: then i point you in the direction of this thread.
