--I actually thought they had added this until I gave my imperial pheonix to a pet trainer and lost it for good. Thankfully I was getting the rainbow one instead, so its not all bad.--

So when are we going to be able to tame more then one pet?

We already have a system to give festival hats to an NPC to hold them, so why not have a similar/identical system for pets?

We just need to tweak the pet trainer NPCs to hold our pets (instead of giving them away to the circus or what ever they do with them). Then we can have an option to choose between which one we use when we equip charm animal.

Its so simple I cant see why it isnt in play!

I cant see any balance issues because you can only use one pet at a time, and you need to speak to the NPC (and possible pay a small fee) to swap between them.

The only restrictions being a limit on how many we can store at one time, and only being able to store one of each pet.

And allow us to have individual names for them all! It can take a few days to evolve a pet, so its not really nice to have to start again each time.

I cant see it being that hard to add! Maybe also have a tiny icon in on screen to display with pet you have equipped. Obviously only if you have ranger and charm-animal equipped.

For instance a pheonix icon if its the pheonix, or a wolf icon if its the wolf!

Hmmm, it could be a nice idea as it would allow for switching between different pet traits (ie. Dire, Hearty, etc etc).

I say /signed for now.

Someone suggested once skill trainers sell charm animal skills that you can buy mulitples of like signet of captures.
Then when you charm an animal the skill changes to 'charmed X'.
That way you just drag 'charmed X' into your bar to bring that type of animal.

The issue there is, where are these creatures being stored while you dont use them? That idea just seems alot more complicated then changing what already exists.

We just need pet trainer NPCs to keep our pets, instead of giving them away.

The same place a regular charmed animal is when it's not on the bar!
I don't know! It's magic land.
Big pockets. Yup.

How about this. When you first go outside you don't have an animal, but when you click the Charm Animal skill icon a window shows up to choose from what you've charmed so far. And you pick one to appear.
If you don't have an animal out and you have a charmable creature targeted, then clicking the icon charms the animal.

I think the problem is now that GW2 production is well under way only Tony the Janitor and his cousin Gary are around to implement new things into the game. Tony and Gary probably don't have much experience with adding all fancy stuff.

There are so many cute pets to be tamed, I'd like to be able to choose from a variety as my mood suits me

Well I /signed the 'stables for pets' thread, so I'd support this as well.

I'd like to tame a hyena for my ranger, but don't want to lose the white tiger and if the option isn't there I'll stay faithful to him.My ele would rather like to charm her rainbow phoenix, but there's no way I'm getting rid of her dire tiger for it.

So

/signed even if it's just 'visit the tamer and choose from your tamed pets available.

Red is right. I'm not looking for significant updates or "wish list" additions to GW1 at this point...perhaps GW2 will have this feature? *Please ANET*

Would be nice to have a hold of both a dire black widow and a rainbow phoenix. I'd like to be able to switch to the phoenix, then back to the widow without having to go and cap the thing in the UW.

Ok.... let us see here...

What are the real differences between different pets?

#1. Evolution type. One Dire Pet, one Elder, one Hearty... Sure.
#2. Damage types. One Piercing, one Slashing... ok.
#3. ....... Asthetics.

Honestly... the difference between pets aside from appearance is minimal at best, and I don't know anyone who regularly wants to change between using Dire and Hearty pets.... So while you might get attached to one pet but want to use another for a while, I very much doubt there is enough cause for it for A-Net to implement such a thing.

I mean I'd like it too.... but it isn't going to happen.

If you look at this in sense of time, Anet is going to have 2 years before GWs2! That leaves 2 years to basically add a very simple feature to existing NPCs.

It shouldnt require anymore then adding a few more rows to a characters information in the database under pet1, pet2, pet3, etc, etc! Then adding a few button choices to the dialect at the pet trainers.

1. "Please hold this pet for me."
2. "Let me see all the pets you are holding for me."
3 ."I would like to take my [enter pet name] from you and give you my [enter pet name] in its place."

I cant see that being hard to do in a 2 year span! I think I did smaller tasks, which took less time when I was developing software on my placement for Uni.

I agree its not vital to anything, but it would be nice and not difficult to do. I agree that on a secondary character you only really need one pet. But if its your main character like my elemental, its nice to have a choice.

Ive tended to stick to pheonix's because im an ele, and it goes with that look.

But in this 2 year gap im bound to get bored with my rainbow pheonix (if I ever use it), but I dont want to completely loose it if I get bored with it. I think capturing pets and training them up would be a nice thing to do to fill that time. There are quite a few to get and some are harder then others.

It wouldnt impact anything, but it would satisfy the 100s of players who like pets.

I cant see a bad side to it.

Also, please shrink the size of rainbow phoenixes, they troll my screen in PvP.

/notsigned to that.

Once I've completed Gwen, my Sin is capping himself one brightly feathered Gojira-bird.

I've seen the screenshot on Guildwiki.
It looks like it could pick up Zhed and fly away with him to feed to its chicks.
THAT was the moment I decided I had to have one, even if I never use it (my main is Assassin FFS)...

Then I went to the Hall of Monuments... found it wasn't there... and realised that I still needed to get the remaining Charr Homelands side of GW:EN out of the way.... and the endgame...

I've wanted this for years, but I'm fairly pessimistic that they'll add it. The model for keeping character information probably has one and only one pet slot designated, probably something like HaveAPet, PetType, PetLevel, PetEvolution, PetName.

I can't see them making a fundamental change to character data storage to implement a pet stable, as wonderful as that would be.
