Howdy. First of all, I had proph about two years ago but sold it... and regret it. I recently picked up Nightfall and looking to trap FoW again like I used to. Keep in mind Nightfall is the ONLY campaign I know, so am looking for a pure NF/Core trapping build.
I was thinking the following, and want critiques/suggestions considering it's been a long time since I've done this...

Flame Trap
Smoke Trap [E] / Echo [E]
Troll Ungent?
Whirling Defense?
Trappers Speed?
Rez/Other
The ones with ? marks are ones I'm unsure about...
As you can see, I need help. If I don't use Smoke Trap, I want something like throw dirt to help miss JUST in case.

Going pure trapper is usely only good in some PVP scenario's, (as a support role with a few spirits), or in solo-farming. The problem is that without Dust Trap,

When Dust Trap is triggered, every second (for 5 seconds total), all nearby foes are blinded for 3...7 seconds and take 10...22 damage. While activating this skill you are easily interrupted. Dust Trap ends after 90 seconds.
, without a doubt the best trap in GW, you will have minimal damage and no blind condition (other than Smoke Trap). But seeing you only have NF i'll give some advice on your build,
whirling defense is excelent and i would put another stance in like lightning reflexes or natural stride. Trappers speed is bad, (except for solofarming, but then you should be using spirits and serpents quickness), because it cancels whirling and others. As your traps, Smoke trap is a fine elite, i would also keep Flame trap for damage+burning, and especially barbed trap for conditions. As a heal i'd use troll ungeant and here comes the important advice:
I suggest going /A for a teleport and utility to tele to the enemy casters, Daze them with smoke trap, and damage them. It also enhances your agility.
You also might want to try the Beast Mastery line, not for a pet but for 'vipers defence' and toxicity.

yea your major dmg came from dust trap and smoke trap does no dmg so yea
