OMG so mad...

Okay so I've been working on the quest Lambs to the Slaughter for an hour...why? Because it keeps screwing up on me! I'll start off with the fact that it takes forever to get to the Undercity alone, what with the Am Fah jumping at you from all directions in Wajjun Bazaar. Then it's another long way to get to the redevous point. And then at least one of the assassins has to survive. This makes going to them from Bukdek Byway impossible, as you have to go through a huge mob of Afflicted with a monk boss among them only like 5 feet away and they all die. So you have to go through the Bazaar. Exciting from Naphai Quarter was murder/suicide because of the huge mobs of Am Fah that did us in within 10 steps. Then when you're down in the Undercity, more Am Fah to fight including a necro boss. That would be fine but I just run past him to save time.
I finally get past the cluttered mobs of Afflicted and Kappa under the bridge (which I can't fight because as a derv I can't get to them) slowing me down with Mind Freeze. Then I get to the Obsidian Flame. I get to the meeting point, and the necro boss is there even though he wasn't when I just did the quest on a monk. So he kills all but 3 of the enemy sins, who don't turn hostile because of the boss and his gang killing the one that talks in the dialog. So I have to do it all over AGAIN! Then I find this on wiki:
Bug! The quest may glitch if you kill the Shadow Blade member who begins talking too quickly, resulting in the rest of the Shadow Blades not going hostile and preventing you from completing the quest. If this occurs, simply flag your party away from the area and the boss will slowly kill all the assassins for you. Refer to this article's talk page for further discussion.
Uh...yeah, what if the boss is there and kills them before the dialog? I mean, this is ridiculous. I realize glitches are common, but if they can't fix them, they should fix the quests. Make it so that the Obsidian Flame don't have to survive to complete the quest, or make it so that as soon as we get to the metting place all the Shadow Blades turn hostile so you can kill them and beat the quest. This is so ridiculous and very unfair...here I go again...
EDIT: I just did it again and the boss was dead (I killed him on the way), the dialog was triggered, no other enemies were around, and it STILL did the exact same thing!!! FIX THIS!!!

I always join a native factions character for Mayhem in the Market quest to get local Vizunah Square area for quick access to Underworld. For crossing bridges, flag your h/h past the bridge so they dont stop and comit suicide half-way across. For quests that you have to listen to someone, it helps a lot to flag h/h well before you reach them then inch up alone until a dialog appears.

Yeah, I love non-primary quests. I do them all on every char, I like to follow the larger plot. And besides, npcs with green arrows above their head really annoy me :P

As fusa said, having Vizunah Local makes that quest a lot easier - you can come in from there and clear the path to the Am Fah before going back to collect the assassins.
lol, I remember one time, tho, where I did it that way and everything was going perfectly ... until I got the group of 'sins over to the Am Fah and they got 'stuck' on that cart sitting there in the open area - not close enough to trigger the Ams to turn hostile. Argh! Had to do it all over again.

Tender Wolf, As far as I know there's always been a bug with that quest. I don't remember a necro boss killing anything though...I didn't think he was on the way. I used to complete this by killing everything between the Obsidian Flame and the Shadow Blades, then go back and escort the Obsidian Flame. When the Shadow Blades turn "ally", some nearby groups of Am Fah can be aggroed which usually finish them off if you leave them to it.

Ok I've presumably done this quest, and I recognise the name, but I dont recognise the descritpion of the task!
But I can only assume I managed it as ive done 99% of the quest in the entire game. All I can say is that if an ele can manage that, maybe you just need to re-think your build or team make-up.
Its usually the best way to do something.

4 words:
Seek Out Brother Tosai.
Keep it active in your quest log, and Wajuun Bazaar becomes a cakewalk. That big mob of 5 groups of Am Fah going from Nahpui? they wave you on by.
I noticed a bug myself though...going from Bukdek to meet up with the assassins hoping to fight through the Afflicted(wait for the group at the monk to split up, stupid...much easier in groups of 3-4 and one or more of those groups gets caught up fighting the Kappa below them at the bridge.) Made it through the afflicted and got to the rival gang with three of the five assassins alive...but only one of the rival assassins aggroed. I was walking amongst the rest of them like they weren't even there. AND, the quest didn't update.
this was on my survivor character so I didn't want to dive head-long into the group, I was edging in so they'd turn aggressive and aggro, so I could send henchies in while I set up wards and did my thing...maybe that had something to do with it.

Hmm I just finish that quest with my necro awhile ago.A group of afflicted is manageable as long as you kill their healer first which is the ritualist.

As A11Euro said.... the quest Seek out Brother Tosai is what you really want.
Also.... you and your folks need to get a bit tougher if the Am Fah are giving you any trouble in the first place.
But that isn't the point. The point is... there is a little quest you can get in Kaineng Center that involves going to talk to a guy called Bujo next to some stairs nearby. He'll get you to kill some Jade Brotherhood and bring back their capes. When you've done that.... he'll give you the Seek Out Brother Tosai quest.... and ALL the Am Fah in Waijun Bazaar become neutral NPCs (except ones related to other quests). It makes getting through the Bazaar a total walk in the park (no combat at all if you take the correct path).
If you can't get it yourself because you've already done it (as a few of my characters have)... just team up with someone else who has it active and they'll be passive and neutral for you too.
Seriously... it is the best way.
Don't go from Bukdek Byway.... but rather enter the Undercity from Waijun Bazaar and clear your way to the meeting point, whence you can then pull the quest off without a hitch hopefully.
And really.... If you can't do the quest now then leave it for later when you're tougher and have a powerful team on your side. Melee attackers are not friends of Afflicted, so use a lot of spellcasters if possible.

If only we had some sort of Bug Forum where people could post glitches in the game... oh wait, I remember... you don't usually come back and post in your own threads because 90% of the time you just like to complain about how the game is so hard for you and you can never do anything.

hmm and maybe 2nd, because completing the mission was total easy, reaching the spot is a joke, when you have a special quest undone, which will make big groups of Am Fah in certain ways friendly, so that you can simply run through them and don't get attacked, + reducing the amount of Am Fah, which pop up out of nowhere ...
Once your in the underground, its absolutely easy, the spot is absolutely not overfilled with enemies, like certain places on the upper part of the town where all those jade jerks are running around, no you have to fight ever only vs signel small groups and sometimes versus some absolute predictable pop up groups, which are quick killed, when you know, when you have to prepare you for them by summoning for example some prot ghosts and attack ghosts to increase ur overall battle power for the fight.
ANd then its ever the same procedure in killing Am Fah:
1. Healer
2. Rangers
3. Assasins
4. Necromancers
and the groups are quick down, when you call out targets in this row,
Are there more Assasins, then Rangers, then have Sins an higher priority and get them killed, before you go on and gank the rangers, because when more than 1 Sin is charging one and the same Char of you, mostly naturally your monks, thats not good, so try to reduce them quick, when they are more, than Rangers...otherwise kill rangers first, because when not, they keep poisoning your whole team and try to spike together with the sins your chars, that the sins are charging...
Fighting them with Nightfal Skills or EoTN's skills makes it also extreme easy...the whole quests is easily H/H'able, made it H/H and none of my buddies was killed anytime

Still not as bad as the time when I was in Frostmourne's for 4 hours and got stuck in the portal to the last level.
In regards to this quest, I've had this glitch happened once. Pretty annoying, but drops weren't too bad back then.

Pretty much all possible solutions to this problem have been given already... and this certainly isn't a report of a new glitch.

Hmm didn't find anny bugs in the Factions quests, yeah I did them all except 2-3 jade sea quests.

Yeah, city quests for Imperial Commendations.
Quest was bugged probably since beginning of Factions. Only thing you can do is ignore it.

I didn't have any problems with this quest when I did it. Song and stone took me multiple tries though. Seems at least 3 singers went down is soon as I even entered the area. Heard they fixed this sometime since though.
I do all quests on my main character (everything on the wiki) but I only do the fun/skill/trade contract quests for my other characters though.
