Summoning the Great Dwarf
Sali Su and co.
In the Against the Destroyers mission, you reach the stage where you must summon the great dwarf. I went to Jalis, entered the dungeon, made it all the way to the 3rd level. easy peasy.
Then I came up against a giant wurm thing with armour and stuff. I failed miserably here. I had heroes and henchmen, which meant only I was able to carry the explosives over to the wurm, which meant it took far too long to weaken it, and then by the time the armour came off, half my team weren't alive so we didnt manage to kill it before its armour grew back.
And by the time I'd managed to destroy its armour again, it had regened to full health. -_-
I only tried once, but was just wondering if there are any tips on how to defeat the lil' bugger. would an actual team of proper players be easier?

The way most people farm this dungeon is with a full human team and just spam drop the kegs at the wurm's base. Getting an 8 man team might be easy enough if people are still farming. If not then it's still possible.
If you wish to H/H then put 3 touch ranger heroes on your bar. The wurm is not immune to life steals and will be dead in under 1 minute.
I went with the following:
Myself as Rit Painful Spammer.
3 R/N heroes with hourglass staff for extra energy and max expertise.
Zho for interrupts
Herta for Wards
Lina and Mhenlo for horrid heals.
See here for discussion, but trust me when I say triple touch rangers = win.

Also, here's the build for a touch ranger:

If you don't have the skills for that then it's probably doable with 3 Necros and life stealing. They'll be a lot more squishy than the rangers so you'll likely need to pack more healing/defense.

Um...this isn't about farming it?
Just flag your heroes AWAY from yourself, so that you can run Kegs safely. Mhenlo's LoD usually takes care of the damage Cyndr does. Then after 3 Kegs, DPS the crap out of him, rinse and repeat till dead.

Crom The Pale
Taking a Rit with spirits and Painfull bond will drop his hp fast once you bring down that armor. Just flag and cast at a safe distance from the rest of your party to keep them from instant death.

My point was that a lot of people farm it and the OP could just tag along on one of those farming runs.
Of course the rest of my post was about how to actually beat it using H/H. Reading... it's fundamental.

Mister O
You don't need to break her shell if you bring a [skill]order of the vampire[/skill] hero and a few phycal damage dealer heroes/henchmen.
Yarghetaus
I easily destroyed him with the following:
Me: [skill]pain inverter[/skill][skill]signet of illusions[/skill][skill]frigid armor[/skill][skill]maelstrom[/skill][skill]water attunement[/skill][skill]ice spear[/skill][skill]deep freeze[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill]
Olias: [skill]spoil victor[/skill] + life degen skills
Master of Whispers: [skill]spiteful spirit[/skill][skill]reckless haste[/skill][skill]insidious parasite[/skill][skill]enfeebling blood[/skill][skill]price of failure[/skill][skill]signet of lost souls[/skill][skill]awaken the blood[/skill][skill]hexer's vigor[/skill]
Xandra: [skill]shelter[/skill][skill]ritual lord[/skill][skill]pain[/skill][skill]union[/skill][skill]vital weapon[/skill][skill]boon of creation[/skill][skill]flesh of my flesh[/skill][skill]dissonance[/skill]
Devona
Lina
Talon
one human player that I picked up.
By the time we crushed his carapace, it was already to half life.

Cant' spam kegs anymore, has been fixed by Anet

Its possible with any build provided the right tactics are used. Just flag your three heroes far apart from each other (and yourself) while you run kegs and the damn henches follow you (or you can flag them behind the heroes). That way, the entire party is not hit with pyroclastic shot in one go. I just did it on my warrior with SS, SV and MM hero (didnt bother to change build before going in). Just drop the 3 kegs, uncheck flags if needed and pound him into oblivion.

Yep. I was worried because I went thru with my first character before the 'nerf' and just spammed kegs. But when I went thru with a new character I H/Hed it and just came prepared with good builds and basically did the above and nalled him the first time. I did have to break his carapace twice, but the 2nd time he had only like 20-25% life left...
Clord
I took three hero monks and two henchman monks. Wurm happened to go next from Powder Keg guy.

As a mesmer, e-surge, energy burn, spiritual pain (yeah I know), any hex, and cry of pain, will make shorter work of him once you take care of his carapace. Right before he goes under, cast conjure phantasm and that should still do dmg as he is underground.
