Me/

Me and my wife are tryign to do the mission in Ravenheart Gloom,

We haven't tried to PUG yet, as there doesn't seem to be too many folk there trying it. So we are going with our heroes.

Unfortunatley my main charcter is a Mesmer, and as I have noted not many people like using them in DoA. We have tried our normal build for this and get wiped, we then went onto Guildwiki to find builds and tried usign the SF team for DoA, but it didnt work, and the Rit DoA team afterwards for it, and it didn;t work either. Both teams manage to get to the first portion of the mission but it is impossible for us to survive the onslaught of foes, as the tank can't hold them effectively. I used my mesmer as the bonder which worked quite well.

I then noticed the Barrage build for TOPK, and thought I could try to manipulate that to get it to work. My mesmer went in as a barrage ranger, but used a coupel of the new PvE only skills, and my Wife tried a sf ele first then changed to a rit second with tons of spirits. Both times we easily wiped the normal foes, but once we got to the cave and tried the mass onslaught we got a lot further but at about half way eventually got wiped,

I'm wondering if anyone has a successful build for a mesmer and ele human team using 6 heroes? we are tryign to get the Malyxx mission done but we are quite stuck here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't been able to complete gloom without bringing a bonder for the initial quest and resorting to the typical tanknspank. There are just too many bodies to try and take it with a balanced approach. I suppose you could try it with an all caster group and just try to blow up the groups quickly before hexes and enraged overwhelm you. In which case, you'll want Aegis/Wards, both monks with Divert Hexes, lots of energy management, lots of AoE, weakness, and I'd consider getting your hands on an Essence of Celerity, Grail of Might, and Armor of Salvation from GW:EN.

After the initial quest, the rest of the area is fairly easy. Just need to watch your radar at all times. Was able to manage it with three humans, and five heroes when There's Nothing To Fear! and Seed of Life were both nuts. Since then I haven't been able to get by without a human heavy team.

Gloom is most definately the hardest spot in the game, just because of that first quest.

A friend of mine is working on a build, he's actually used it successfully in ravengloom. He's planning to make it public in a few weeks, but I've seen it in action and it basically rips through DoA. Uses no tank and can do the cave quest easily (well tbh how well depends also on the heros not running all over the place). He uses 6 heros, so don't give up hope, if you haven't figured the cave out by the time he releases his build I'm sure you can do it with that build.

I did Gloom last night with a guildie. Had a divert hexes prot monk, 2 n/rt healers, myself [pretty much a spamable BOA sin], and 4 SF. I found it unusually easy, considering sins are frowned upon in DoA as well. The cave is pretty rough. Luckily, we were killing stuff faster than they were us. If you two are ever bored, I'm usually up for DoA or something, if I'm not HAing. IGN is on the left.
