Please make GW:EN books not take up inventory space
bilateralrope
Currently we have 4 books for GW:EN, each taking up one slot. As I like to help out guildies with whatever, I generally will have to have all of them in inventory. This gets annoying for areas with large amounts of drops, and only bringing along the useful one is also annoying.
So could ANET please change the books so they don't take up inventory slots. Maybe extra tabs in the quest window, maybe a book window. I'll even accept having the books merged so that they all take up the same inventory slot, since it would allow me to get rid of my other unsellable item (which I use to prevent me accidentally merching stuff I plan to keep).
But taking up 4 slots is just too many, especially for the GW:EN dungeons where having an extra one or two free spots in inventory would make the difference between picking up everything and having to salvage some of it to pick up the rest.

There could be a 'book bag', working like the Incubator. Open, put the books inside, close.

Stop complaining.. they just made it so books give a reasonable amount of XP

Doesn't bother me having those 4 books in my inventory.
If I should get inventory space troubles, I just get myself another character slot, and use it as a mule character.

You don't even need to have all 4 in your inventory at the same time.

2 for normal mode and 2 for hard mode + Zho's Journal
With the amount of collectable stuff like Destro Cores, Charr's Carving, doing something with books is the least they can do with it.

With the addition of the two new books, my "useful to have on me at all times" stuff nearly takes up my Backpack, which lowers my overall ability to use inventory space. My Xunlai is nearly full with other shtuff (Box IV is armor storage), and it's a pain to think about taking out items before entering an area, especially if you forget to put them back into your inventory.

GW needs in general, especially for GW2 a much better Storage Place Management ..
Why must be Quest items for exall all be put into our Inventory, why can't Quest Items and such personal Items, like those Books be displayed an an own Tab (an own bag, however...) outside of the Inventory.
Placed on fix places, where they can't be moved (because theres no need to move them then)
But espcially for Quest Items, this would be a really grief, when U've done several quests, which give you some quesr items,, whihc you have to carry around, why should they be displayed in inventory, when they can be displayed on an own tab site (and maybe perhaps viewed)
PS: this would be also a nice playful feature for GW2 > being able to view your Items and Stuff in Inventory, looking at a 3D Model of that thing, turning camaera ariound, zooming in and out, other then having only such small pictures of the item and then nothing, there are even no descriptions for items, no tiny bit lore or so ....
======
other nice perfect solution would be simple, to place into our HoM's a Book Shelf or some little Statues, which hold the books, and when you click them, you can see then the book's stuff.
For example, put them into the Momument of Honor ...
When you have now for example a completed book of heroes HM, then you can place it there, a "Book Statue" of the Heroes Book will appear and when you click it, as said, then the book will show its stuff, like as when you click the item in your inventore in the moment

Map pieces are more like Charr Battle Plans, they won't be used for a long time, and there's no need to keep them in the Inventory.

Map pieces can at least be stacked, so I put them all into storage till I use them.

They have a storage for map pieces. It's called Koris Deeprunner in Umbral Grotto.
If you get a piece that you already had, sell it or put it on another character that can use it. You don't have to use them all at once.

Maybe we can get Superior Storage Runes to expand the storage capacity or our bags.
