Im getting horrid lag spikes in game to the point Im about ready to stop bothering. They dont last long but they happen often and most of the time by the time they are done I am dead.
Im running Vista Ultimate 34
Graphics X1650 PCIE
3 Gigs Ram
200Gig Hard Drive
Abit Fatl1ty Motherboard
Duel Core Intel 3.8Ghz
Im well over the recommended for the game I know its not the network because all of the other computers on the network are wireless and play GW just fine. It doesn't just happen on Guild wars it happens on all games I play.
I have the most up to date Drivers for my graphics card as well which were .gotten just yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Erm, the term 'lag spikes' will be a network issue.. If it's a graphics card problem you would be lagging constantly, an actual 'lag spike' - that's your network/internet.
However, you could possibly need a defrag? Or the fact that it's just Vista your using? Or possibly the upmost up to date graphics drivers for the X1650? I believe the ATI Catalyst v7.10 drivers are out now? Try those.

Don't forget to run a full uninstall of the old drivers and use Guru 3D's Driver Sweeper to remove leftover files.

Issue wasn't the network I got it fixed it was the fact that it was running in computability mode for Windows service pack 2 which was ok when Vista first came out most games were having issues with Vista but with all the updates sense it has been out they updated to where there isnt problems with running in normal mode for Vista.
weird how that works, I thought that it had to do with the network to but seeing as how i have a wireless N Linksys card and wireless N router brand new I had a hard time believing it to be a network problem, but for good measure I went ahead and decided I would check and see. So I opened up my laptop in my room where the computer I was having problems with is. opened up Guild Wars and 0 problems ran perfectly.
Tried again with my main computer and there were issues. My drivers were up to date downloaded them when the problem started as well as updated motherboard drivers. Still had the issues Video Drivers were downloaded on the 13th which the postdate you had was the 11th and I got them from ATI's website so they are the same.
Bios flashed as well and that wasn't the issue though I did need to flash them lol. So anyways yeah enough ramblings for me issue was the running in windows service pack 2 mode.
Thanks for the sweeper didnt know there was one out there I remembered hearing of one but couldn't remember the name.
