HM Snowmen Farm?
Nimrod EX
howdy doody every1...i've been trying lots of things with the snowmen recently...i found out that for some reason, glads defence/bonneti doesn't block their snowballs...on top of that, their snowballs still do 50 damage regardless of how much armor (or -3 dmg insignias) i have. but i think that an obsi tank...with SOME form of damage dealing can do it. and theres a "Plains Of Jarin" farm for an ele which does awesome aoe which might be good...but i only have a level 11 ele with hardly any skills and cannot test it...could some1 test the build mentioned in this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10150938
and tell me if it works?
thanks in advance
(btw the build for the ele is NOT mine)

The reason you can not block their snowballs with glads defence is because it is a spell, not a melee attack or projectile, obsidian flash does however stop them because they are spells so it stops them being able to cast it on you.
I can't test the build though because i don't have an ele up to there

oooh genious! never thought of that...but in that case Vow of silence can help...spell breaker...lots of things sliver armor and all that will reduce the damage won't it?
kielus
sliver armor wont reduce dmg, it never did actually... perhaps obsi tank with sliver and some form of dmg skills, but still wouldn't be effective (what you want to farm there?). Guess 600/smite with qz backup would be faster. Still Fire ele team plows through there.
SoA does reduce dmg taken btw, same with PS

i dont know how to post the skill icon bet heres the link basical u tank then and they shut them selfs down then unflag heros to kill them bond your self also http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Defiant_Was_Xinrae

umm... pardon me...but why thinking of solo/dual when there's loot scaling? it's still easy with 8 heroes/henchmen in HM + any form of aoe u can think of, i like splinter barrage it's fun!
MercenaryKnight
Paragon's are really useful. Seeing as using a bunch of sf eles and They are on fire, tntf reduce snowballs damage (tested). Also defensive anthem blocks 50% of their projectiles so I do this easily with 3 sf heroes 2 monk hench and 2 ele hench.

I would have to disagree as pointed out in my thread http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10207737
It's really simple just disable their spell skills with one of the xinrae skills and then use a evasive stance or something like stoneflesh aura their wand attacks do very little damage even in hard mode.

A Simple Farmer
I tried this farm before HM with an ele ob tank build. At that time, deeprunner wouldn't respawn, so you couldn't complete the quest, and all I got for it was a crappy gold and lots of materials.
So when HM started up that's the first farm I tried.
So far, I've only done 1 run, so....
Started off with a full Salvage Kit, to keep track. (and only 11 inv. slots, doh!)
Got:
42 whites & blues,
10 Purples
6 golds
para and monk tome
took 49 minutes, and I died 6 times (i suck). A lot of that time was spent salvaging materials, so I'm sure it can be done faster.
I think this a ok place to farm for materials and maybe modifiers, though not much else.
ps, this is my 1st. post!!!

Corpselooter
Glyph of Swiftness, Obsidian Flesh, Stoneflesh aura. 4-8 is optional, just farm the first 2 mobs.

Mantra of Frost works well for casters for e-management

having 3 monks and 4 eles 1 Tank does a good job i think, HB, Life Steath Prot, another Prot Monk, 3 SF's 1 SH, Tank to take heat.

solo...eh. 3-man, with a HH/Shielding hands tank, bonder, and nuker. Life barrier/bond cuts the damage from the snowballs down to 12-14 and HH takes care of that. use healing breeze before HH is about to drop then cast shielding hands. You should survive until HH is back up. Use the asuran skill Air of Superiority and you'll very likely never run out of energy, and you have a good chance of insta-recharge of HH AND air.

(was it cause u forgot to maintain obsi flesh? or just because they overpowered you?). plus people i wanna farm this not for the reputation points (although its a nice side advantage), i want to farm it because this is the only place i know tht can have 170 level 24 monsters, that come in mobs of 15 this can be the best farm ever if u know how to do it! pkodyssey

fffiiirrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeee, why is nobody trying fire aoe spam XD
Savor Silversword
any1 know a good warrior build for farming snowmen HM??
A Simple Farmer
I died from interupts. There's a couple skills that the snowmen have that interupt you (some are spells, some skills). With the build I used you can still do it; mostly by taking the mobs separate than the interupters. And using Deeprunnuner to your' advantage.
If you want drops and rep, probably just farm the first couple groups, as fast as possible. In the long run you'll get more. Maybe an earth ele, with echo Sandstorm. Maybe a 330 vwk or echo vwk with an interupt stance. You got a ritualist near there? Nimrod EX

well, first of all fire DOESN'T do double damage on them.
second of all it is hard to make a good tank build AND aoe fire at the same time (although the build that i qouted contains dire djiins haste). Savor Silversword
if a warrior can´t farm it can a monk farm it??
dont feel no pain

Anyone try the 130hp derv here? Mine is not there yet or I would
fir
there is only 1 thing I would say on this post ->why solo snowmen in HM<- I mean those snowmen doesnt drop much or good stuff The only good reason to farm this dungeon is the dwarven points! but when you go with 8 ppl its goes a lot faster and anyway this dungeon is very easy even in hm and its stays easy even if u play with hero's/henchies
Savor Silversword
I just wanna try farm it and see if it can drop some good stuff because i have got a req 9 and a req 12 fiery blade axes, req 10 and a req 12 serpent axes and a lot of other golds from chests

dude...in hardmode...mobs of 10 level 24 snowmen, who only use three different skills all together (daze thingy, snowball, thing that does the same thing shockwave does). they drop gold ITEMS, dyes, whatever you want (plus i think i got a fiery dragon sword once...maybe it was IDS...or maybe it was a penguin...not sure). if farmed correctly this can be ownage! its a small map with 170 enemies that u can pwn plus there are dwarven reputation points as a nice bonus.

I want to know this too.
Nimrod EX
i dunno, i don't have a monk or a necromancer there, but maybe 55 could work, although there is a high interupt.
Sir Pandra Pierva
Why does earth tank with met shower, lava font, bed of coals, inferno come to mind?
Nimrod EX
yea i was about to ask the same question, but apparentrly its hard enough to survive as earth tank, plus there are lots of interrupts, it can shut you down completly...although i would like to try this myself, i just don't have a level 20 elementalist there :'( thats why i made this thread, so someone could test it

if somehow that was actually true... | i would MURDER my friend to use his computer and GW for the next ten days supahfarming them. Marverick
Well I've never been to this dungeon yet but from their skills on wiki, these two should work.
[skill]Shadow Form[/skill][skill]Death's Charge[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Meteor Shower[/skill][skill]Bed of Coals[/skill][skill]Intensity[/skill][skill]Phoenix[/skill][skill]Inferno[/skill] Just ball them up and go 1-8 on the skills. Of course they would have to be ball-up-able (if that's not a word it is now) so I'm not sure about that. This would definitely work, although it might be on the slow side. [skill]Glyph of Swiftness[/skill][skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Sliver Armor[/skill][skill]Teinai's Crystals[/skill][skill]Crystal Wave[/skill][skill]Mantra of Frost[/skill][skill]Air of Superiority[/skill] Obsidian Flesh will stop their snowballs from hitting, Snow Down The Shirt will not work, Hidden Rock will not work since it needs a snowball to hit. Stoneflesh Aura should reduce all their normal attacks to 0, and Sliver Armour with the Crystals will kill them. Mantra of Frost for e-management and an optional skill that you can take whatever you want. You might be able to do it R/E with [skill]Serpent's Quickness[/skill] instead of Glyph of Swiftness. Not sure if Air of Superiority alone is enough e-management, though. jaeharys targaryen

Just FYI, snowballs don't deal cold damage, only armor ignoring.
