Changing Second Profession

Im new to Guild Wars and have all expansions except eye of the north. I recently started a Devish/Mesmer. But i was looking to try Devish/Assassin. The choice of assassin was not available when i went to get a second profession. So why do i see a ton of Devish/Assassins running around.

I have read there is a way to change the second profession for a fee of 500g. Is this true and if so where do i go about doing this?

You can do it in the Great Temple of Balthazaar - the NPC is called "Profession Changer" - the fee is only needed the first time you switch to a certain profession (Switch to assassin = 500 gold, switch then to warrior = 500 gold, switch back to assassin = free)

WHAT! Grrr... I've been getting all my characters past Nuphi Quarter for nothing!? ... I wish I was granted the gift of perception...

Well at least it's good to know...

You can only change it if you have ascended, completed Hunted!, or finished Nahpui Quarter. And yes, that applies to the Great temple of Balthazar one.

Oh... You people neglected to provide that >.>.. At least I never missed out on anything...

For people with Prophecies and Factions, coming via the Prophecies route, once you get to Lion's Arch and do the Factions crossover mission, you can take the boat to Kaineng and pay for Secondary changes there.

Similarly you can buy max armour in Kaineng without having to do a Droks run.

You can't change your secondary at Kaieng... Only at Senji's Corner in Factions can you change your secondary...
