Weekend start/finish announcement in game

It would be nice if the game sent a global messages announcing that the weekend event has started and has finished. In addition a /weekend type command to say how many hours left until it started (before the weekend) or finished (during the weekend) would be handy too.

Before I get flamed for not looking at the RL clock; when you are half a world away working out GMT + or - whatever, plus adjustments for daylight savings - its not all that intuitive.

This will also avoid all those mind numbing conversations with guildie's about whether the weekend has started or finished - its true, sadly, it happens all too frequently.

Apologies if this has been raised already - I had a wee check about the place.

Then will you beg for a /time? then a /date then a /partysearch then a /auction .. it goes on and on

The idea doesn't sound too bad, but I still don't see a lot of people using it. People would probably still ask "did this event start?! what do i do with (insert item here)?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Kinda like it. would hurt nothing. Just a global GM announcement on the servers. I don't see why it could not be pushed out in the same way the New build announcement is...

Why don't they make these bonusses last a week? Lot's of people have social lives, especially during weekends...
I miss out on 95% of all these bonus weekends, and the ones I can enter, are pvp ones, which I never play

Yeah, they can make them when the certain events happen, like Emperor Kisu appearing in Shing Jea.
