Ele elite tome farming idea
angmar_nite
With the quest, the mesmers path, 3 bosses are spawned: tempest drakes, each of which is an ele boss. However, the run requires passing through scarabs, and in hm this is no easy task. My 55 ss failed badly, and i can't imagine my e/a being able to kill all 3 bosses with just sliver armor and a few damage skills
Anyone got ideas?

What quest are you talking about, exactly?

It's one of the quests in Prophecies. Back then, if you wanted to change your Second Profession, you had to do a quest for the corresponding Profession after you completed Ascension.
The quest he's talking about is the quest, The Mesmer's Path
Oh, and the Official Wiki, if you prefer:

Sir Pandra Pierva
you could try group farming it?
Farming tomes just pick a boss who easy to solo in hm and farm the crap out of him. I get a lot of tomes bergen farming

Using a trapper maybe? Like the solo UW speed trapper build.

There are 3 bosses here which gives it an advantage over other groups, and the run itself is short if slightly difficult. (sand drake, enchantment strip, and wurms)
to trap bugs? I dunno... and this is hm too. Wouldn't it take too long to reach the boss if you kill everything along the way?

I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I was thinking grab a full party of heroes and henchies and use them as distractions as you run for it.

IMO, a poor choice for an Elite tome farm. Jade Scarabs are touchers with enchantment removal, which means almost every classic farm build for any profession is rendered useless. They are also hidden popups, which means you can't purposefully avoid aggro. Sand Drakes also have Aftershock, which is a non-targeted spell (so forget Shadow Form and Obsidian Flesh), and Earthquake, which is a knockdown.

y'know, i'm beginning to doubt that this can be solo farmed.

With Chillblains nerfed to targeted foe, Shadow form will hold, but you'll need to survive Aftershock at melee range.
