What all can you change?

I've got a hero right now, and he's a warrior/ranger, but I'm thinking I'd like to change his classes to a necromancer/ranger and warrior/necromancer or a necromancer/elementalist.

Which of the above can be done?

Also, can i change my name? Is there a name changing bot anywhere? Or do I have to create a new character for that?

You can only switch secondary professions, so only Warrior/Necromancer would be Viable for your hero.

Nope, You'd have to create a new toon for that..

And that means back to the very beginning, yes? That sucks so bad, lol. Man, why does it gotta be like that? I have to restart from the very, very beginning in order to do anything like that? Shooot.

There are effectively VERY few changes one can not make.

You can not change ones primary profession, ones name, and ones model (includes hair styles) and that is pretty much it. With heroes you can not swap their armor out except for their "prestige" versions that you unlock.

If you want to change any of the above on your character you have to start over. Though really, other than hair style it *is* something of an MMO and changing your profession or name should be either really hard/rare or impossible. I would really like a hair stylists but I can very much understand why they do not allow name changes or primary profession changes.

At the very least the vast majority of mechanical achievements in GW are easy to get, unless you have quite a few high ranking titles it is no big deal. You will find later runs through the game go MUCH faster as you know what you are doing - one of the nice parts of "skill>>time". I've re-rolled a few longer term characters that never pursued titles and they got back to full potential in just a few dozen hours at most.

Now you know. So. Whenever you create a new character, take your time in choosing hair, face, height, and alll that stuff - you can never change them. You can't change your character's name either, unless someone finds it offensive and A-Net makes you change it.

Note that switching from warrior/range to warrior/necro will be possible at some point in the game. Other than that, you can't change the rest.

Well yeah I must have re-created my character 10 times and play them all to level 3 before finally getting my character "just right"
