I capped Life Barrier just for something to do, and I was wondering, is it rlly any better than Life Bond? It can be in that the damage is reduced by 50% and you, as the monk receive none of it. Where I found it most useful was working in conjunction with Life Bond (Barrier 1st then Bond) reducing the damage taken by the meleer to around 1/4 while the amount sent back to the monk is marginal.
While bonders have fallen from favor, the LBarrier & LBond combo can come in handy with the Assault on the Stronghold HM, while trying to keep the Armored Saurus alive.

alright, cool thanks
hmm.. I'm defenitley going to get Blessed Light if I start a Divine Healing monk, looks awsome for freeing up some skill bars since it does healing, hex removal, and condition removal all in one!

Actually, the main difference is that Bond only prevents damage from attacks. Barrier reduces all damage (read: not life steal, 'health loss', degen, etc.) regardless of the type or source.

wait soo... Life Bond the whole time only protected from attacks??? wow I never knew that...and Life Barrier protects from anything except degen and life stealing? so that why its elite...

You missed the third category beside life stealing and degen: 'health loss'. Well, four categories I guess, including sacrificing, but I generally clump that with 'health loss'. This is the kind of 'damage' you take from skills like Grenth's Balance and Infuse Health, which ignore everything.
Jade Zephyr
Gift of Health, Reversal of Fortune, Signet of Devotion, Shield of Deflection, Protective Spirit, Deny Hexes, Aegis, Glyph of Lesser Energy.
My favorite protection bar, and pairs very well with a hybrid LoD for dual aegis and shield of absorption/guardian. I know it lacks condition-removal but its easy to change if you know you're going to an area with deadly/annoying conditions. Honestly, with a LoD on your team the only conditions you would want to get away quick are dazed or deep wound. LoD takes care of the rest. I'd say this build is pretty solid and it works well for FoW and SF where you would usually want a bonder, just watch the screen carefully for incoming melee-trains or spikes. Preprotting with Prot Spirit before engaging battle is recommended. *added attributes, think it goes something like 12+1+1 prot, 10+1 divine, 8+1 healing. Burst Cancel
See Tommy's post on Sig of Devotion. If you want a divine favor skill to power Deny Hexes, Divine Spirit is a better choice.
