So i started guildwars recently.. I was wondering what kind of build would be near to this description?

Damage is my top priority. My main concern is staying away from near death situations.. Is there a build that matches this?

need to be way more specific. "i want to do damage and live" covers lmost every build imaginable.

judging from the mo/d you say you are in your info box, i think you might have chosen the wrong class to deal a lot of damage and stay alive. People and the AI always target monks first.

Perhaps R/Mo - Mending Touch with Rebirth for Monk side. Great defenses and good offense from afar (bow has long range).

Ele/x (Earth has some very nice defensive and offensive possiblities)
or as Pick Me said: Ranger/mo.

Paragon is the first that comes to my mind
A Paragon can do massive damage with their spears and keep range. They also have very high armor (shield and 80 armor standard from your armor) so you won't be targeted often and you can take quite some hits.
Try it, but try some other things as well and pick whichever you like most.
