Fort Aspenwood & Jade Quarry

I'm not exactly sure how this works, but I'll give it a go.
Now this is old news, I'm sure, but how many people have expressed in the Fort Aspenwood outposts that the wait times in FA can be beyond ridiculous?
This is possibly one of the most fun PvP maps I've seen in Guild Wars, but there's so little server space dedicated to allow more than 2 games to be played at one time, from what I understand. Unless of course, it's "Alliance Faction Weekend".
Since rarely anyone plays Jade Quarry (seriously, I have not seen more than 2 people in Kurzick Jade Quarry since the release of Factions and the more recent "buff" of Faction Rewards), I propose the following:
- If there are no games happening in Jade Quarry, allow Fort Aspenwood games to take place on the vacant server space.
That, or remove/steamroll Jade Quarry altogether and just allow Fort Aspenwood to use it as a parking garage.

During busy times of the day/evening, it's not because people don't join -- there's plenty that want to play on both sides. It's just that the server only plays 2 games at a time.
Why is it that whenever one game ends, 16 (8 Luxon/8 Kurzick) more people go in -- leaving the previous 16 from the last game waiting until THAT game is finished?
It's no myth, my friend.

Bleh. If that is ture, there should be just 1 one at the same time, so actually anyone went to Jade Quarry.
More important than any problem happening with Fort Aspenwood, is the Jade Quarry being always empty.

The server space thingy is a community myth. This is taken from the official wiki's Talk:Alliance battle where similar theories were introduced:

(This was originally posted on Gaile's talk page erroneously, I copied and moved it here. Counciler 09:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC) Here's what I've learned from the lead designer: * Yes, this is most likely the cause of any delays, as there is a large difference in the number of Kurzick and Luxon teams. Being able to get in easily as Kurzick is affected by the sheer numbers, although as your experience indicates, mileage may vary. * There are no problems whatsoever with server space -- this is decidely not an issue. * Not an issue aside from the imbalanced K/L numbers mentioned above. * It's not a matter of too many allied groups aside from the same situation with more Kurzick than Luxon. * There is no second timer. * This situation is not at all related to possessing opposing faction. * We don't know of any bug with matchmaking (which I just confirmed with QA) and it seems unlikely that there is a bug, since the answer is more easily seen in the first response about Luxon/Kurzick numbers. * There are no limits on the number of wins, or wins per hour. I hope that's helpful information. --Gaile 19:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC) |

I've been playing Fort Aspenwood a lot recently in order to farm faction. But I would rather be playing Jade Quarry. The only reason I play Fort Aspenwood is because I know people are going to be there.

There are plenty of idiots in game repeating the "The servers only support 2 games at once!" myth, there's just no convincing them otherwise. I guess everyone has inside knowledge of the server designs these days!

This sounds something like: Everbidy lies, but me!
If you are waiting usually is because in either of the sides there are not enough people to make a game for you.
An example: We have 12 luxons and 15 kurzicks -> Only one game, but there was enought people!
We have now 4 luxons and 7 kurzicks waiting -> No game.
Previous game ends -> We now have again people to make a game...
And so on.

I'm not saying 'everybody lies but me'. But thanks for trying to generalize me into a group of buffoons who act that way.
Your answer is quite logical and I'm sure it's the case most of the time, but every single time?

Please read the entire thread before quoting and questioning my post.

Because there are no other players to make two teams of 8 players each one.
Kuzicks rarely go to Aspenwood because Luxons have advantage there, and Luxons do not go to Jade Quarry because they have no advantage there.
So people usually get alliegance points by alliance battles, making quests and clearing areas. Which are much effective.
