Thinking ahead to the holidays...
MSecorsky
Aargh! Here's a thought... Wintersday is celebrated in Tyria... EotN is in Tyria, so we can expect Wintersday there at least at the Eye of the North itself with it's Tyrian population. That being that... we can also expect collectors there to exchange goodies for items, such as...
Such as...
Such as what?
Berserker horns maybe? Vaettir essences?
Time to stop selling things off...

Maybe there'll be Naked Gunner's Women this time.

Nah, sorry Msecorsky. They cancelled Wintersday in EotN. It seems they were a tad upset over us massacring several million snowmen.

Of course... you have to wonder if the lair will be empty come that time...
And the reason I bring this up is that folks might want to consider collecting collectibles now. Just in case.
Happy Halloween!

Good thing I have 2 full stacks of Elemental Dust (From Sepulchre)...hopefully they are used
Yichi
and the point of speculating about something that may or may not happen is? wouldn't it be wiser to actually wait and see what info is released so you know what to keep and what not too? Hell we dont even know for sure if the halloween items are the same or if they added some, much less wintersday....
Honestly ill laugh my ass off at the guy who collects 1k berserker horns and spends hours farming them only to find out they aren't used and he collected them out of pure speculation.

I've been, from the start, collecting collectibles which can be traded for 15^50 weapons, +30 inscribable shields, and consumables. it takes up almost a full storage box, and keeping everything is just crazy. wait and see what will happen in Halloween.
Even if they will not be used, they can still be traded for 15^50 long/recurve bows / swords / scythes / daggers, and +30hp str/command/motivation shields. with no doubt, the best collectable in gw:en after the ones you trade for armor.

There's actually at least a good excuse if ANet keep both festivals to the above cities - the Asura, Norn and Charr don't worship the Five Gods the way humans do, and the Eye is a war camp - at least Ascalon still contains SOME civilians.
As for the Mad King - I don't think any of the EOTN territories were part of, allied with, or otherwise connected to his domain, so why would he be interested in them?

Canadians come shop in America and ruin my life in retail.
Just kidding. But their holidays are always on the same days as they are in America. Always more Canadian shoppers than American ones. I think Canadians dislike picnics
ON TOPIC: I'm excited for this time of year. I hope they do something in EotN

I personally don't celebrate Halloween at all, but it is without a doubt the best holiday event in Guild Wars, you really don't want to miss it.

Hehe, well...I'm just gonna take it one weekend at a time and look forward to Halloween. It'll be my first one in GW. And also, isn't Halloween an Anglo Saxon tradition? Therefore, it is in fact the Americans who are copying someone. And the Canadians are indeed copying it too...From the Anglo Saxons...Not America.
Australia doesn't really take part in the celebration, sure a few families might here and there but we're not all "WOOOOO! HALLOWEEN! Let's knock on random rapists doors and get mugged for doing so!!! WOOO!"
Back on topic....Yeah, it'll also be my first Wintersday too. Also looking forward to that, and heres to the Snowman's revenge! *Raises his spiked eggnog*

I just want the booze.
Seriously though: I'm hoping the holidays are in EotN, with decorations up there, especially Wintersday. It just fits, and much of the community is playing there now.

Thanksgiving is a North American holiday/tradition, not Anglo-Saxon. Historically, Canada had the first Thanksgiving, but the US declared it a national holiday first. But who really cares?

Holidays arn't stolen, If there is a big enough comunity of other cultures in an area they may celebrate a certain holiday.
i.e. the irish holiday of St. Patricks day is now celebrated in America and where ever there is a large amount of irish, so kidna adopted into the culture of the country.
ON TOPIC: yeah, may aswell save em if you have the room can't hurt

As for the game, its awesome. Just ignore that there is any such thing as the real event.

I had the pleasure of growing up right next to Salem, MA. If you've never Halloweened there, you've never experienced Halloween. People would compete to create the best haunted houses, homes everywhere decorated with the sounds of Halloween playing... man, I miss that.

I've got 30 eggs for persistant Trick Or Treaters.
More Outrage
I just got a few of everything but that`s because I wasn`t sure what the collectors would have, now you mention it I`ll keep hold of it all for now.
As for holidays I was thinking of joining every religion and non-religious sect that had holidays and seeing if I could maybe take a year or two of work due to holiday commitments, never know it might work for a while at least. *shrug*
GW should at least have a harvest festival considering the number of farmers and give them all a day off, they need it!
