Why is all HOM armor the same color?

I'm not sure if this was intended or not. I had 1 set of armor in my hall of monuments, and I finally decided that after going through the entire 4 games with just 1 set I'd finally make another. so I did, and dyed it a nice green, and went to put it in the hom with the other set. Well go figure, my original set had been dyed red, the new set was green, and voila both sets were suddenly green! But going out, putting on the old set, and going back in turned them both to red. Wtf! What's the point of having them displayed like that if you don't even get to show off the color you dyed them all? Is this a bug or unintended consequence?

It is intended, the armor sets that you display in the HoM will be the color of the armor you are wearing when you enter the HoM. My guess is the amout of programming, server space etc involved in keeping the armor the color it was dyed when you decided to display it. Then again, you'd have to change it if you changed dye etc. So it was probably way more simple for anet to make it that way.

My ranger armor converted back to the color I got it in originally. My monk, necro and ele armor is the color I dyed it. Not sure how that happened, but hey, I'm not complaining.

When I first entered my armor into HoM, they all came dyed black. I don't have any black on my armors.

I'm guessing everybody who has armor that isn't the right color has it revert back to the old "default" colors for their professions armor.
You see, a while ago (when they replaced dye remover with grey dye) they also updated the dye system. Therefore, if you bought armor a while ago and dyed it under the old dye system, the game can no longer recognize the code for your armor's color (since it can't be created anymore using the current dye system). As such, anybody who has armor that was dyed (possibily only with mixed dye combos, not sure about this) prior to that update will have thier armor be the "default" colors.

I only have one armour in my HoM at the moment, my 15K canthan, its dyed silver and looks correct in the HoM. I have almost obtained my second set of 15K armour, Aeromancer and i was planning to dye it a totaly diffrent way from way my canthan. Im hopeing they display correctly in the colours that i dye them.
As it will be a bit naff if it changes the colour of your display armours already on show. If this is a bug/glitch in the game i hope the devs can get it sorted out. As the HoM is a bit of a dissapointment then if cant show the things you want to show in the colours that you want them.

I just put my second set in and it changed the color of my first set.
Thats kinda crappy. Because the first set is so ugly now.

the armor is all the same color cause it was easier to write the program for it that way. (also the same reason we have to have complete sets)......
doesnt bother me much....its a good way to figure out if you would like the 'new' dye on old armor (though some of the colors arent quite right......)

Can I delete one put on earlier that reset to original armor color and re-add so it shows in the color I actually wear? hahahaha
