Avatar of Lyssa drop = Energy drain?

I've been working with a build that uses AoL, and I've occasionally noticed that I find myself with zero energy, and despite 3 pips of regen and a Zeaous Scythe I am stuck at 0 for a while. No debuffs, and none of the other skills on my bar seem to affect my energy. So my question is, I have noticed that when you cast Avatar of Lyssa, the +20 energy is both to your maximum AND to your current values... so when it drops does it also take 20 away in addition to lowering the max? This might explain why I get stuck at 0, if it is putting me in an unshown negative value, but it can be hard to reproduce the result, and the build has turned into my hero development so I probably won't notice anymore.

So bottom line... does Lyssa take away 20 energy when it drops? (And in addition, despite showing 0, can you be in an unshown negative energy value?)

When it ends, the extra energy is subtracted from your current. That might result in a negative number.

Yes. Energy can and does go into negatives, and yes, it is not shown.

You can see this with +energy weapons too. Get a weapon with bonus, waste your energy (rebirth?) and switch back to a weapon with no bonus. You'll see zero until the unseen negative is regenerated back.

are you using eternal aura? because if you're not you should, you'll never be out of avatar form if used correctly and then you want have that energy problem.

Ive gone to the skill trainers and they don't have it does your sunspear rank have to be atleast at 8? The wiki doesnt specify either.

The Hero Skill trainers teach it, under the class of Sunspear Skills (Hero skill trainers teach hero skills for all professions, but they also teach YOU Sunspear skills that are only available to players, and only in PvE).

And yeah, I'm using Eternal Aura, but sometimes it gets interrupted, sometimes I have no mana, sometimes I forget to reapply Lyssa, sometimes Lyssa gets interrupted... and so on. There's alot of reasons why Lyssa can drop and not be immediately reapplied. One good example is I only need it when fighting, and I'm not going to slow down just so I can keep it up to stand around and look cool or something when I can just move on.

But in addition to the fact that Eternal Aura isn't available in PvP (which is yet another reason I could have been letting AoL drop), it's not available to heroes. Since this is becoming my Melonni build, this effect is more pertinent to her. She seems smart enough for the most part to avoid the problem though. Obviously 1 hour of me playing a whole new build isn't long enough to get used to all the little quirks.
