How can I improve my build in Slavers?

I have been trying to Hero/Hench Slavers in NM with my Ranger, but am having terrible luck. I have a few questions:

1.- What build should I be using?
2.- What Hero's should I bring and how about their builds?
3.- What Henchmen should I select?

There are a few rules that everyone seem to agree on:
Very careful pulling
You NEED Frozen Soil. All the time when you're fighting stone summit, and they will attack it at times so place it wisely not among your h/h.
When going for Forgewight interrupts are highly recommended, so arent anything that protects from fire dmg. Interrupts also help vs. the touchers in Duncan's area (and the few in the 2nd leg, the name escapes me).
