I guess that depends on how you want to go about getting it.

Safest and easiest? Pay a runner/power leveling a boatload of gold to get it for you. You'll have Legendary Survivor soon enough, but will you feel good about having it? Will you proudly display your accomplishment in town?

If you want to get it on your own the honest way then just be careful. Follow all the common sense tips that have been posted on the forums.
- Never play your survivor when your laggy or with an unreliable connection.
- Never play survivor with a profession you're unfamiliar with.
- Never take your survivor into a situation/mission/quest you've never done before.
- Always be aware of your surroundings. Know how many enemies are around the next corner and what they will likely throw at you.
- Never pug with a survivor. It's not fair to the pug if you have to map out and it's too risky ending up with a moronic pug.
- Vizunah Square is OFF LIMITS!!
- There are many Elites to cap in Kourna and Factions that are quick and easy to reach. Easy 5k experience.
- Have I mentioned scrolls yet?
- Tons of Fed Ex quests in Kaineng City area. Easy experience.
- Don't get careless. My survivor died with 300k experience on an easy quest because I wasn't paying attention. I've beaten the Acolyte of Grenth many many times with other characters and didn't consider him a challenge. He spiked my survivor for 450 dmg in an instant.
- Never never never never walk away from your computer while in an explorable area. Even if there are no red dots on your compass, you never know when a patrol might wonder thru.

The trick isn't really gameplay. You just have to have a rock solid internet connection.

always party with henchmen and if friends offer to hlpe take it.
always check up wiki first to see w hat quest/mission is like.

full blessed inscriptions + mending worked well for me, as maybe +1/2 regen + 50 armour was nice, (spare atb points) at least when your getting form 1-20.

Blessed only gives +10 armor. That's local armor; it doesn't stack.

Never PuG. Just don't. Ever.

Getting Tahlkora to bond you is useful in most situations.

Play safe. Research the area you're heading into in case there are hidden nasties.

Lots of good advice above. Always know what you're heading into (use Guild Wiki) and learn how to spot disaster before it hits. Make sure you have the best possible connection.

I was able to attain the Tyrian explorer title around the time I reached rank 1 survivor. I used the scrape method as often as possible: it unfogged lots of area and usually kept me out of trouble.

You could try skill hunter while doing survivor. The exp bonus is nice and there is some synergy there. Most captures are fairly easy with H/h. Just do a little research as suggested above so as not to get into any trouble. Heroes can bond at least one person well and certainly, as mentioned, have a superior connection.

Disclaimer: I am not a survivor and havent attempted it. Skill hunter I have done and mused that if ever I re-rolled it would be a route I would try. Treya is long, long past her re-roll threshold and I'm not about to pursue titles on another character though. Anyway: have fun and good luck!

If you're not a Monk primary, a monk secondary with Protective Spirit is a must. Even if everything (i.e. Internet Connection) goes to hell in a handbasket, Protective Spirit can give you that 5 second window to survive enough to map out.

If your internet connection is severed, no amount of prot spirit in the world will save you. There is no option to toggle reconnects, so the current system will leave you bare to the digital world while they repeatedly kill your un-manned avatar.

In short: Never even attempt Survivor unless you have a very good connection.

Are you talking about just 1st rank of Survivor?

Lots of good advice offered, I'd add:

USE A BOW!!! Preferably a longbow. Doesn't matter what prof you are or if you're actually (capable of) doing damage with it - you want to be at some remove from the melee while your heroes/hench do the fighting for you; this also gives you a bit of a headstart if you need to run away. When you approach enemies, make sure to stop and let your H&H catch up to you before shooting.

TAKE /MONK 2ND!!! Mending is your friend, get your Healing high enough (8 iirc) for the +3H regen. Take Mend Ailment and Remove Hex, maybe Healing Breeze; don't waste a slot on a res skill, let the H&H do the res'ing, if they're all dead, map out and start over.

MAP OUT!!! Don't exit the program to escape from a sticky situation, hit the M key and double-click on the nearest town; exiting the program leaves you on the server for up to 30 seconds, more than enough time to die.

lol @ all the crappy advice.

Relying on Mending, avoiding Vizunah, not pugging...

Everything else Raven said is true though. Be aware of your surroundings at all times even in battle. Watch not only your party bar but everyone's positioning as well. If you're aware of everything, there's no chance your pug is going to draw some enemies onto you to be mean (had that happen to me as well, it's very easy to spot this and calmly map out to find a new team), nor will you be dragging the team down. In fact, most of the time you can quite safely save the party after near wipes because of this. I know I have, plenty of times.

Also, Death Pact Signet, while making you shit yourself, it is quite useful. If you're aware of the battlefield more than your teammates, you can get into a party wipe situation and res them all up extremely quickly. If you're in an explorable area and need to wipe, res up someone, let them die and so do you - to the res shrine. 0 Deaths <o/

If you want to be effective, make your build do well. You don't need a survival skill at all. Focus all your skills to helping the party, because you're not soloing and dedicating half your bar to keep yourself alive is letting your team do all the work. As an Elementalist, I go for Rodgorts spam. The more enemies I kill, the less strain on the Monk and the less likely I am to take damage, when I do, I have a non-strained monk to keep me alive.

A good survivor contributes to their team, gives it their all. This is a team based game after all and whether you're playing with heroes/henchies, a pug or guildies, you wont make it alone.

instead of mapping out a nice little trick is to put ht guild roster screen in the corner and shrink it so youve got the button. The if your in trouble its quicker to click the button.

If you think your gunna die, do exit. trust me, theres many times which ive risked a fight and then after ive died felt so pissed off

Well i got my LS by doing quests, capturing skills from Rit and Ele bosses and joining pugs. I even got the bonus in dunes of despair.

This is by far the most rewarding title in the game IF you do it the risky way. Otherwise, its worthless.

Just don't try to go fast or overestimate your skill. Then it always goes wrong.

And never EVER tell random people you try to get survivor. This game is relatively gank proof so don't give the griefers an opportunity to inflict pain. Let them think you are a noob.

Just be very careful.

My monk currently only has the first track of survivor, so I'm not THAT experienced... But the way he got it was just to be VERY careful.

-Don't aggro groups when you think it's unsafe.
-When you have lag, just log out or go to town.
-Whenever you find an Experience Scroll, keep it and use it for your survivor.
-Stay back and let your heroes/henchies/friends do the fighting. You can support them from the backlines.
-When anything tries to attack you, kite. You never know when a monster suddenly does a strong adrenaline skill or spell that will finish you off.
-Try and do many easy quests. Easy quests on the beginner islands of Factions/Nightfall still give some EXP. Even if it's not THAT much, it's always something.
-If you have the cash for it, capture Elite Skills. It works for a title, you can make more builds, and you get EXP.
-Never let your character alone - You never know when something comes by, pops up from under the ground, or when someone else goes on your pc and moves your char in a random group of monsters.
-Just be very VERY careful with what you're doing. Don't rush into groups, don't take hits from big mean Factions bosses etc.
-Don't run near Nature Spirits - there might be some traps below them. This usually isn't enough to kill you, but if you are just recovering from a fight, it might be fatal.
-Be ready to get the hell out of the current location. Be prepared to click on the 'x' to quit Guild Wars, or travel to the Guild Hall or a town.

And then people wonder why I won't display my half earned title until I max it out.. I'm deeply paranoid of having a team kill me intentionally, or adding stress to the monk which they don't need by revealing that fact that I don't wanna die.

That said, I'll pug if there's people around and I feel sociable. In most cases, I prefer to hench things because I know how the hench AI reacts to situations and what I can/can't do with them.

Don't play half asleep and don't get too confident in your ability to stay alive.

Also, you don't have to be a monk or secondary monk to get that title. My first time I ran a me/a with illusion of weakness and shadow refuge. This time, I'm playing a ele with.. well.. secondary was monk for the perma res, never used any other monk skill on her though.

Don't play your survivor when you are drunk (or hungover).

from someone with too much relevant experience!
