Get as much health as possible. +30/+30 stave, sup vigor and survivor insignia's/runes, no other superior rune... not even a major one. It's not that the extra health will help you survive the odd hit (well maybe it does but thats not the main point). Monsters always, I repeat ALWAYS, go for the member of the group with the least health. Having bucketloads of health makes you last on their priority list. It's a rare situation you get hit at all tbh. The only thing you have to watch out for is AoE damage. So make sure you are never in the clump of you henchies (flags ftw).
There is one exception to that rule. Grenth's Balance...

lol, I die on a regular basis because I"m using guild chat.. its hard to ignore, but if I"m on a survivor wannabe, no-one gets my attention unless I'm sure nothing is gonna jump me.

but the best tip of all is do Kilroy Stonekins punch out extravaganza, take 250% scrolls, it IS the fastest, most profitable way to get survivor, you get roughly 45k XP per 7 minute HM runs, takes a little bit of prep work, but you pretty much safe from dying, just remember to get up, if you cant get up, just hit the close button
I obviously suck at that.. I died.. multiple times in that quest. (not my survivor)

Yes the doppleganger is the last portion of a characters ascension in the Prophecies campaign and I think when you beat it and get bonus it nets you a MASSIVE amount of XP if done in HM, or something like that.

HM = Hard Mode

Other post covers the doppleganger.

How To Get Legendary Survivor Easy

Go to Lugardis Consveratory
Do HFF or Leech for roughly 15 hours
Ta Da! Legendary Survivor

Using this method you have almost no chance of dying.

Agree! I've done this Kilroy Quest uncountable times. But NEVER EVER would I dare to put my (trial) survivor in this. Admireable how people can regard this as fastest and safest way. Of course it's beatable without dying, but somewhat I may be to clumsy. About every 3'rd or 4'th run I die for sure, not clicking fast enough.

I don't think it matters where you wish to create your character. Just do what you want. I created a Tyrian monk and after a few post-pre missions I used my roommate's account to run her to all the main cities and got her heroes. After that I did all the Kaineng quests and some Nightfall quests to get her to lvl20 and then started farming the title for her in Waijjun Bazaar(Thread about it). She's now leg surv.

I also created a Tyrian ranger with whom I simply played up to Surviror r2 and as a reward for myself for beating Nightfall without dying(specifically GoM in a PuG). I'm going to farm her the rest in Waijjun Bazaar also. My favorite skills/build was Barrage or Broad Head Arrow with some interrupts. My saviour skills were Whirling Defense coupled with Troll Unguent and I always had some form of condition removal. I wasn't afraid to spam them either. Troll Unguent+Whirling Defense on before even aggroing anything sometimes. It's best to be efficient in both killing/spiking and healing/protecting yourself.

Tips
1. Get max AL armor ASAP and rune it properly with a vigor rune. Use Survivor's insignias and depending on your profession +armor insignias are great too. If you really need energy then mix in some radiant or runes of attunement.
2. Don't play late at night when you're tired.
3. WATCH OUT for those caster bosses. Rits, Eles etc.
4. Don't play when you have a really crappy ping/FPS or are rubberbanding. Log out immediatelly if you get a lagspike.
5. Use F12+Enter for the fastest possible logout and quickly re-log to make sure you are out. Just closing the game will leave your character on the server for a while longer and might kill it.
6. When playing PvE always send your henches in before you. I recommend a MM hero or 2x SF heroes with a good prot monk. It helps to know if there are any places where monsters pop-up so you can avoid them beforehand.
7. Turning off Guild chat and Alliance chat is a great basic rule...

I have lost many survivors and I have a crappy GFX card=crappy FPS. Skills don't recharge smoothly for me, the recharge "timer" hops around and I need to spam my skills a lot to make sure they are used. I also frequently have a crappy ping which sucks but what can you do? Just have to be extra careful/sensitive or not play at all if it's too much.

My 2 cents.

You have to get yourself to Venta Cemetary and be ranger secondary, pretty easily done. Only the outpost is needed. You don't have to go through the mission chain once you hit the mainland. I think you can see where this is going . The rit has the Battle of Turais Procession quest active (done in Hard Mode) and carries splinter weapon and the spirits needed. The character going for LS has barrage and some running skills with a flatbow. So long as the rit doesn't engage the margonites then the player going for LS will get ALL the experience (21600xp for a 7-8 min run, 43200xp with a double scroll). Takes about 4 hours from about lvl17-20, plus the time it took you to get to Venta.

One thing i did insist though was that the person practice on another char first so they knew what to do. Once you have the hang of it (30 mins or so) it's almost risk free so long as you take the precautions to make a quick exit as mentioned in other posts should something go wrong, which it almost never does once you know what to do, hence why i insisted on the practice first.

There's loads of ways to get LS easily, that's just the one i've used to help a couple of friends out. Like i said, it's a bit cheap but it gets you the title.
Did this with my paragon on P/R barrage and razah @ 16 Splinter.

Oh how do I love that they nerfed splinterweapon now
