It's because AB is where the majority of the unintelligent population hang out. It's hard to live with, I know, but if you want to AB, live with it.

Because people are stupid and think they are good at the game because they can insult the other side. Either that or they realize how much they fail and insult the other team to make themselves feel better. But since it is impossible for them to even comprehend how bad they are, I will stick to my first point.

I'm actually planning on switching after getting R4 for a Luxon Monument.

The release of 300 made this problem go into "hyper-stupidity" mode. I love it, it's hilarious.

In this case its mostly us having fun... its not the same environment thats in RA. At least it does not seem that way to me. However IF you are offended, Which I was regularly in RA, I simply turn off All chat completly. Its its happening in Team chat, that goes off too.. I just play without the chat distraction and all is well.

BTW if you can not figure out whats going on in a 4 man team without chat or voice. something is wrong...

I mean Kur Lux thing was an interesting thing, but because of the alliance system and the loss of the opposing points for doing any titles made it that you really had to commit to a side and go from there... I know at least 20 people that have yet to even play any lux areas beyond the hatchery because they were unwilling to grind out 10,000 luxon points and loose their kurzick Upkeep for towns or whatever for the week...

It was an interesting twist and SO FAR its worked. Cause they have not had a situation yet that EVERYONE is one or the other. so I have to give them that.

Putting exclusive Elites there will do the trick. I had to go through Eternal Grove to get my Moebius Strike.

Or really cool rewards for the Challenge Missions in the deep ends.

i have to play for the kurz today.. neadless to say my heart wasn't really in the battle, i'm an r5 luxon, i kept getting my color confused, would "retreat" to a red shirne only to realize that i wasn't with the luxons. ugh it wasn't fun, but it was fun letting a luxon trapper keep trapping the snot out of the teleporters.

I always wanted them to allow people to go up from harvest temple on the other side Once the game was done, so they would not have to grind out faction in order to see the rest of the game. IDK its not that big a deal to me. but still its unfortunate that I know there has to be some bit of the population that has never even seen the other side of that area because of that...

Quite frankly, its no excuse at all.

Yes, they will burn a bunch of faction, but those 10,000 opponent faction can be gained in a few days of quite enjoyable questing. After you're through, get a bunch of passage scrolls or crafting materials.

The few hundred own faction to allow you to talk to merchants can be gained back in 10min of mindless ABing.

If people choose not to explore certain areas, they only have themselves to blame. The system is not great, but the hurdles are not high either.

Cause talking crap is funny. I don't really care. Kurzick, Luxon, whatever...
But I love to see people get all mad over it.

I enjoy ABing, and nine times out of ten, I tend to keep my snarky comments to myself.. Until I'm griefed by five sins because they're a little bit upset I killed them, or helped kill them or.. well you know how it goes.

It doesn't matter to me what side i'm on, as long as the crew I'm with knows it's all about having fun.

Meh, anything in GW sparks the "IM BETTAR THEN U, U GUYZ SUCK!!1" trash talking. So give people a side to choose from and see it explode.

lol most of the hate is between luxons vs luxons in the competitions for the 'best' towns and kurzick vs kurzicks.

i do regular ab and to be honest i don't see too much "OMG SUXON" stuff to be honest ,but if it does happen it is coming from little children

Well, ANet designed Kurzick and Luxon to be enemies. And enemies simply behave like this. See real-life enemies for example. Trite but true, even here.

This artificial hate is a form of entertainment

You feel elevated and belonging to a certain bigger group by bashing the other one.

There are no lore reasons for this. It is just TEAM A vs TEAM B. Have you ever seen a soccer match between two neighbouring villages in Bavaria, Germany?

The other team is described as inept retards, but if your team wins, it is a great victory. :>


Outside of AB's, the luxon/kurzick difference vanishes. "You are a Luxon? Eeeks!" - but that was it. Nobody cares about it. People are still trying to figure out if Luxons belong more to this or that social group and Kurzick to the other. Kurzick are mostly put in the Emo-bag, Luxons are young kiddies playing pirates. So much about simplification.

It just creates problems when you join an alliance that fights for another faction. Then you have to ask for guest invites of guilds of the other side to fight in their ABs to continue raising your preferred title track.
