Anet going crazy on name bans?!

Wow... just tried to logon, and I'm banned for an "Unacceptable Player Name" honestly, I think it's a ton of bullsh1t.

My toons are: Noxify -The Mighty/The Savior/The Archer | Envor The Forgotten | Wtf My Cat Said Moo | I Buy Hacks Online

In my opinion, none of those are bad names. My guess, is that now with the damn /report, Anet pretty much bans anyone that gets reported. I got a 72 hour ban... for what name? Not even sure. All of my names besides my PvE are just Funny names.

Can they really ban you for having "Wtf" in your name?! If so, thats really fricking dumb.

The other one that could've got me banned is "I Buy Hacks Online" which is just a fun name... which sucks cause I won halls on him. I'd hate to have to throw my name in the garbage just because Anet deems it innapropriate.
<Side note: I named him "I Buy Hacks Online" because he's a sin. Sins are known for spiking and being shady and all. For example, you get shadowprison solo'ed while you have prot spirit up, your gonna be like "Wow... what a hacker.">

Anyone know what will happen once im unbanned? Will it say "Name your level 20 PvP necro please" or something like that?! Im soooo confused/pissed. kthx.

They wont just ban people who get reported. They will look at each report before doing anything.

As it is I imagine that its the "I Buy Hacks Online" that got you the ban.

That sounds like the most likely possibility

Most likely you will find out what char name you where banned for when your ban is up. I was once banned for a char name along time ago and it gave me the option to rename the char when my ban was up.

Yep you can rename your char so you dont have to start it all over again. That way you dont lose your stats, just your name

I'm really hoping it was "Envor The Forgotten" that got banned. He's a noob. My PvE necro/first character. I didn't think of a "name" yet, so I made one... and thought it was really dumb.

I would love to rename him "Noxify The Feared" or "Noxify The Hated"

Just get enough friends to report those names before you go on a vacations >.>

Whiskey Knight(Pvp), Endless Expansions (dervish), Smirnoff Hangover (ranger), My ex wife (warrior), Mystic Drunk (paragon) Last to join (monk) and finally Lady Badtimeofmonth (mesmer). You guys should start posting your names in this thread if you've gotten in trouble for them to give the rest of us a heads up.

Well, you're obviously banned because of the " I Buy Hacks Online " character for sure.

I mean, I used to work as a gm for another game and that kind of name is a bannable offense. :O

We're not A-net support, and generally don't allow threads about "I got banned."
